Kkot Gatsu is famous as a pork cutlet restaurant in Dongtan — did you know Running Man's Ji Seok-jin visited too, hahaha? It's also received a medal from the Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation 🩷
When I arrived, the exterior of Kkot Gatsu was clean and tidy! Inside, the warm wood-tone interior made for a cozy atmosphere to enjoy a meal in — it seemed perfect both for a date and for a family outing. (And indeed, lots of couples and families with kids were there!)
What's on the menu at Kkot Gatsu?
The menu at Kkot Gatsu, a pork cutlet restaurant in Dongtan Mokdong, ranges from sets to single items — the signature tenderloin cutlet Kkot Gatsu, the cheese cutlet packed with plump cheese, the special sirloin cutlet with its nutty, tender, chewy balance, cold soba, and curry udon — a place full of delicious options 🩷

What two people ordered: Kkot Gatsu, cheese cutlet and cold soba
My boyfriend and I wanted to try a variety of dishes, so we ordered the signature Kkot Gatsu, the cheese cutlet, and cold soba!!

The juicy tenderloin Kkot Gatsu, tasted first
Finally, our order arrived! Seeing the cutlets laid out in a neat spread made my mouth water instantly 🤭 The first thing I tried was the house signature, 'Kkot Gatsu.' Made with top-grade tenderloin, this cutlet stood out even just visually!!
There were two things that surprised me: first, its incredible thickness, and second, its unbelievable tenderness! The moment I bit in, the outside was impossibly crisp while the inside was bursting with juice, practically melting in my mouth.

It was delicious dipped in the cutlet sauce, but with a touch of wasabi or salt, the tenderloin's own nutty, clean flavor really came through — it was outstanding. The meat quality was so good that it was plenty tasty even without any sauce at all. Thanks to its thickness, the chewing experience was enjoyable too, and I never once felt any dryness from start to finish.

Cheese lovers, order this: Kkot Gatsu's cheese cutlet
Next up was the visually explosive 'cheese cutlet.' Wow, look at the amount of cheese! You could tell instantly that the owner doesn't skimp on ingredients — a truly generous-looking dish.

One bite and the nutty, salty mozzarella filled my mouth!! The cheese was so soft and stretchy that eating it was fun in itself. Cheese cutlets can easily get greasy, but here, maybe because they use good-quality cheese, the nutty flavor was much stronger, and the balance between the thin layer of meat and the crispy coating was perfect!! If you love cheese, this is an absolute must-order.

A cool, clean finish with cold soba
Once we'd filled up on cutlets, it was time for a refreshing palate cleanser — the 'cold soba.' With ice slush floating in the broth, buckwheat noodles, grated radish, wasabi, and seaweed flakes, it looked refreshing just to see!
One sip of the broth and I felt all the greasiness from the cutlets wash away instantly. Wow!!! The broth wasn't too salty or sweet, with deep umami, and the noodles were nice and chewy. It was a perfect dish whether eaten alongside the cutlets or as a finisher. If you visit Kkot Gatsu on a hot day especially, I'd definitely recommend trying this cold soba.

Is the rice alone worth it at Kkot Gatsu?
And here's another thing that surprised me — the rice! Rice at pork cutlet restaurants is usually pretty ordinary, but the rice at Kkot Gatsu was on another level!! Glossy, fluffy rice that, the moment I took a bite, filled my mouth with a sticky, nutty flavor that really surprised me. It was clearly made with good rice and a lot of care :)
It was good enough that I found myself saying the rice alone was delicious. Topping this delicious rice with a piece of tenderloin was a flavor that left nothing to envy in the world. You could really feel the owner's craftsmanship in not overlooking even the smallest detail.

Final verdict on Kkot Gatsu, a Dongtan pork cutlet restaurant
Kkot Gatsu in Dongtan was a truly great find — from the tender, juicy tenderloin cutlet, to the cheese cutlet overflowing with cheese, the refreshing cold soba, and even a bowl of rice, every single dish was perfect. Great food was just the baseline; the clean atmosphere and friendly service made the meal all the more enjoyable!!
For anyone in Dongtan looking to find their favorite pork cutlet ever, anyone wanting a date in a nice atmosphere with their partner, or anyone hoping to enjoy a good meal with family — I strongly, genuinely recommend Kkot Gatsu! I'm planning to go back again soon to work my way through the rest of the menu 🩷
