There's a Chinese restaurant near my house that I've revisited many times — great atmosphere and even better food, so I'm here to introduce it.

Where is Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, and is there parking?
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, famous for being one of the good Chinese restaurants in Haeundae, comes into view right as you climb the uphill road past Dongbaek Elementary School.
There's a bus stop just a minute's walk away, so it's very convenient by public transit, but they also have a private parking lot, so driving is no hassle at all.
The 1st floor runs as the Chinese restaurant and the 2nd floor as a European restaurant, so walking into the 1st floor you see the entrance right away.

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, a well-loved Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, has a very spacious, bright interior — even on a late weekend lunch visit, the place was packed.
Inside there's a range of seating from 2-seat tables to 4-seat and large group tables, so it looks great whether you're coming with friends, on a date, or with family or a group. When I visited there were a lot of families as well as solo diners.
The window seats in particular have a lush forest view of the greenery outside — probably the best view of any Chinese restaurant on Dalmaji-gil.
There are also wide tables next to the open kitchen, and the spacing between tables is very generous, making for a comfortable meal.
Kiosk ordering and what's on the Bueokgan menu
Ordering is simple through the kiosk at each table, and the menu is shown with photos, which makes picking easier. There was so much good stuff I agonized over it before finally choosing!
The menu at Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, a Chinese restaurant well worth visiting in Haeundae, ranges from the usual jjajangmyeon, ganjjajang, and jjamppong to Chinese dishes like paihuang (smashed cucumber salad) and pyogosha and yuxiang eggplant — such a wide range that choosing was a happy dilemma, haha.
After ordering, the side dishes arrive first — zha cai and pickled radish, which go well alongside the main dishes.
The table also comes set with tissues and utensils.

How is the poached egg and octopus jungwha rice bowl?
Normally when we come to Bueokgan Chinese we always order jjamppong and ganjjajang, but today we wanted something different, so we went with the octopus jungwha rice bowl! The moment it arrived the smell was incredible. I definitely wasn't hungry, but the moment I saw it my hunger came roaring back, haha.
Right after, the warm, freshly fried yuxiang eggplant came out too!
The octopus jungwha rice bowl comes topped with a poached egg — you just break it open and mix it well before eating.
My first taste of the octopus jungwha rice bowl — the sauce was amazing!! It's not a stingy amount, it's generous, so the rice stays moist instead of dry, and it's just the right level of spicy-sweet, plus the plump octopus made it so delicious!! Just looking at these photos is making me crave it all over again, haha.
The dish worth reordering: poached egg pork belly ganjjajang
The poached-egg pork belly jjajang is a must-order here — it's the dish we've come back for so many times I've lost count. You break the poached egg into the jjajang and mix it in well, and the smoky wok-hei flavor of the jjajang with the sweet sauce is just so good, I could cry!
The ganjjajang is loaded with onions but also plenty of well-grilled, chewy meat, so as you eat you get a real variety of flavors in your mouth.
Yuxiang eggplant instead of sweet and sour pork at Bueokgan
Normally at a Chinese restaurant people tend to order sweet and sour pork, but Bueokgan Chinese has such a varied menu that we ordered the yuxiang eggplant instead, made from eggplant, which we usually love.
It came out truly fresh from the fryer — super crispy and warm — and the moment I bit in, my mouth filled with the eggplant's juices. Amazing — honestly, I couldn't believe I'd only just started ordering this. It won me over completely. If you're looking for a great Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, this is a must-visit — that's my review of Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch!
