Haeundae Chinese restaurant that warms baby porridge: Bueokgan

Today I'm writing up a detailed visit review of Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, a stylish Chinese restaurant located on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae. Climbing the quiet, sophisticated hill road that Dalmaji-gil is known for, this place appears with an exterior that already feels completely different from a typical Chinese restaurant.

Parking and stroller access at Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch

Parking is always the biggest worry when looking for a restaurant on Dalmaji-gil, but Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch has excellent free parking support. There's a fully equipped underground lot behind the building, plus roadside parking available in front of and across from the restaurant, so we could park with zero stress. We parked in the underground lot behind the building, and since the path to the entrance had no curbs or steps, it was a very convenient layout for coming with a stroller or visiting with elderly family members who have mobility issues.

Pushing open the door of the standalone building's 1st floor and stepping into the waiting area, I felt like I'd walked into a secret hideout straight out of a movie scene — I couldn't hide my excitement from the moment I stepped in.

Then, the moment I stepped into the main hall, an exclamation just burst out of me.

The wide, open hall was decorated in an exotic yet warm tone. The combination of lush green trees swaying outside the large windows and the softly glowing lamps on every table was eye-catching. Thanks to the classic yet romantic atmosphere, it felt like being at a fine dining spot in Hong Kong or Europe. It instantly made sense why this place is so popular both as a family dinner spot and as a date course.

At Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, once we chose our seat, they brought over a high chair and tableware right away. It's a suction plate, so it seems like it would be convenient to visit with a baby eating solid foods haha. Since our baby is still on porridge baby food, I asked the staff if they could warm it up, and they kindly said yes, no problem — I could have cried.

Since we were at a fancy Chinese restaurant, I wanted something other than sweet and sour pork, so we ordered the jalapeño cream shrimp. I never knew jalapeño and cream shrimp would go so well together! I'm normally a picky eater who doesn't touch jalapeños much, but I happily ate it up together with everyone else.

And now for the star of the show, the poached-egg pork belly jjajangmyeon. The name alone sounded delicious, so we ordered it jumbo-sized

There's cucumber on top of the jjajangmyeon? I was already looking forward to it before even taking a bite

The poached egg gets popped and mixed in before you mix the jjajangmyeon. It was so, so, so good. Ordering it jumbo-sized was absolutely the right call

The amount of vegetables and pork belly was insane. Thanks to the generous ingredients, every single bite made me happy. If you visit Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, a Haeundae favorite, you have to try this one~!!

Is Bueokgan Chinese worth it as a family meal out?

The music playing in the background throughout the meal also made me feel like I was in a foreign country — another thing I loved about Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, a Haeundae favorite. I highly recommend it for a family meal or a date spot hahaha.
