I had a dinner plan in Guro Digital Complex and was looking around for where to go, so this time I visited Hoyo Gudi Branch. The taste, atmosphere, and price were all satisfying, so let me give you an honest review!

Hoyo Gudi Branch is pretty close to Guro Digital Complex Station, so it was convenient to reach by public transit too. It's actually near Exit 3 of Guro Station, so it's a good place to stop by after work.

Even before going in, I could feel that distinct izakaya vibe. Guro has a lot of restaurants and bars where office workers hang out, but this place centers on teppan dishes with a wide variety of menu items, and it didn't have that typical "Gudi" feel — which I liked even more.

The atmosphere and seating

Once inside, the overall vibe was clean, and the tables were comfortable. Actual visitor reviews also mention how clean and quiet the atmosphere is, so it seemed like a good spot to chat with friends or coworkers over a meal.

How varied is the menu?

Once seated, I checked out the menu first. There was okonomiyaki, various teppan dishes, several kinds of soups, and cold dishes — a pretty wide range of izakaya options to choose from.

I was especially looking forward to the okonomiyaki since it's said to be one of the most popular dishes at Hoyo Gudi Branch, and it looked delicious from the start. With the sauce and mayonnaise on top, you could smell that savory aroma too. There was a generous amount of ingredients packed inside. If you like okonomiyaki, this is a familiar yet easy-to-enjoy flavor.

Teppan steak

I also tried the steak since it's said to be a best-seller — sometimes the beef can be tough at other places, but here it was tender, and eating it together with the vegetables grilled on the same teppan was so good, ugh. Eating it hot right after it came out made it taste even better, and it seemed like a great dish for a group to order and share several menu items together.

Basic soft tofu and complimentary fried dish

If I had a stomach like Tzuyang's, I would have ordered way more — there were so many delicious dishes it was almost a shame... The place filled up right after we came in. There's a reason it fills up. The basic soft tofu they give you is tasty too, and the complimentary fried dish was so good I almost ordered it as a separate menu item. So good! Overall, everything tasted great.

How is it as a spot for a work dinner or evening out?

Guro is a good area for office workers to gather after work, so this seemed like a good fit for anyone looking for a work dinner spot or a place to meet friends in the evening. Apparently a lot of visitors actually come here for drinking gatherings, work dinners, and meal get-togethers.

It has a good atmosphere for enjoying delicious food and conversation in the evening, so I had a comfortable meal there myself. If you're looking for a place that's more relaxed than formal, where you can sit comfortably and enjoy food with drinks, it's a solid choice. Above all, being close to Guro Digital Complex Station made it really convenient. It's on the 2nd floor near Guro Station!!
