Front leg jokbal with mung bean pancake at The Jokbal Sindorim

In short

The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch is a jokbal (Korean braised pig's trotters) restaurant on the ground floor of the Sindorim 3-cha Prugio commercial building, between Guro Station and Sindorim Station in Guro, Seoul. The writer ordered half-and-half jokbal with front leg meat added alongside spicy fire jokbal, plus buckwheat noodles and mung bean pancake, and found the meat smell-free and tender with chewy fat and a tangy-spicy noodle sauce that paired perfectly. With an underground parking lot and everything finished to the last bite, it's an easy recommendation.

I went to the first hotel-style jokbal restaurant in Korea, run with the same taste for 12 years by a veteran Chosun Hotel chef who reinterprets hotel cooking as jokbal — it was the only Guro Station spot like it, and honestly it was so good I have to tell you all about it!!

Getting there from Guro Station or Sindorim Station

Even by public transit it's super accessible — just 740m (about a 13-minute walk) from Exit 1 of Sindorim Station on Line 2, and only 156m (about a 3-minute walk) from the Ramada Sindorim Hotel!

Make sure to park underground

Even if you drive to this Sindorim jokbal spot near Guro Station, there's an underground parking lot so parking is easy! Just make sure to park downstairs, since the street out front is enforced!

Atmosphere and seating

This Sindorim jokbal restaurant has plenty of in-store guests, but the delivery orders are massive too!! Delivery riders kept coming and going the whole time I was eating — you could really feel how popular this place is for delivery orders too.

The interior was packed with customers, as you'd expect from a famous spot. The moment you walk in, the bustling atmosphere really gives off that must-visit vibe, and with everything from 4-person tables to group tables, it looks great for gatherings too!! Since the Ramada Hotel wedding hall is right next door, a lot of guests come here for the after-party too.

Menu and how to order

This Guro Station restaurant has a wide variety of menu options. There are also generous set menus for enjoying jokbal in different ways, great to order when visiting with a group!!

You just order through the tablet installed at the table, which is super convenient!

Basic table setting and complimentary cold jokbal

I heard all the menu items and side dishes are prepared in-house using a recipe made directly by the Chosun Hotel chef. The table came generously loaded with house-made, aged radish kimchi, chive salad, fresh lettuce wraps, and bean sprout soup, plus a complimentary cold jokbal salad on top — so plentiful!!

I ordered the half-and-half jokbal with front leg

I ordered the buckwheat noodle platter and the half-and-half jokbal, which let me try both the spicy fire jokbal and the plain jokbal — and since I only ever eat front leg jokbal, I made sure to add front leg!

Half-and-half jokbal ordered with front leg meat

Not long after ordering, the food came out, and it looked so delicious just from the steam rising off it hot and fresh!!! I heard they receive domestic grade-1 fresh raw trotters butchered that same day, and boil and sell them all on the same day too.

Thickly sliced jokbal meat

Maybe that's why this Sindorim jokbal near Guro Station had absolutely no smell at all, and the thickly sliced meat wasn't dry — it was genuinely so tender!! The chewy fat was also seriously delicious!!

A piece of jokbal placed on lettuce

It was great wrapped in lettuce, but honestly just as good eaten plain to enjoy the natural flavor!!!

Buckwheat noodles and mung bean pancake

The buckwheat noodle platter (jaengban makguksu) was seriously delicious too! The sauce was totally addictive — I kept going back for more!!! The chewy noodles were great on their own, and wrapped with the meat, the tangy spicy sauce was a perfect match with the jokbal too!!

Then I also ordered the mung bean pancake (nokdujijimi) — crispy on the outside, savory on the inside, and eating it hot really brought out the crispy texture even more!!

A completely finished review, nothing left behind

Every single menu item was genuinely delicious!! See, everything was so good we finished it all completely, right? I really walked out having eaten every last bite, cleanly!! If you're looking for a Guro Station restaurant, a jokbal spot near Sindorim Station, you have to try The Jokbal! It's clearly already popular in the neighborhood for delivery and takeout too!!
