Korean BBQ in Daeyeon, Busan with a ₩15,000 shabu add-on: Migsikga's

I was back in Daeyeon-dong after a long time, and I went to Migsikga's Grill & Shabu (미식가의 구이&샤브), a place that has a wait even at lunch!

Grilled meat and shabu-shabu in one spot! I loved that you can try both at a good-value price. There are so many BBQ places in Daeyeon-dong that it's hard to choose, but if you want plenty of options, I'd recommend Migsikga's Grill & Shabu.

Opening hours and info

The Daeyeon branch is open 11:00–22:00, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00. Groups are welcome, reservations are possible, and there's a waiting area too.

Getting there from Daeyeon Station, and parking

Migsikga's is right in front of Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station! A perfect location if you're coming by subway!

For parking, use "Modeun Parking Lot" (모든주차장) in the back alley right behind. You get 1 hour free when your table spends ₩20,000 or more. Be sure to get your parking ticket!

Menu and prices: lunch shabu kaljebi to BBQ sets

At lunch you can have shabu kaljebi (shabu-shabu with knife-cut noodles) for ₩9,900, in regular or spicy, like a special! For BBQ, the sets looked like the better deal, and the pork couple set (₩29,900) and the family set (₩46,900) seemed to be the most popular~ You order by tablet at your seat, which was convenient.

Is the 500g pork couple set enough for two?

First come the side dishes! There was a nice variety: kimchi, pickles, salad, seasoned scallions and aged kimchi.

A round grill plate goes on the table, and the pork couple set comes right away! It's aged pork neck + aged pork ribs + aged gabrisal (pork neck-end cut), 500g in total. It's plenty for two.

I love raw marinated-style ribs, and these had big rib bones and lots of lean meat. Just putting them on the grill made my mouth water ♥

The meat is grilling up nicely >_< The good thing about a set is that you get to taste several kinds of meat in small amounts! Since it all comes out at once, you can grill it together and try it different ways.

Wasabi with the rib meat and gabrisal were the best

The meat itself was delicious, and the sides you eat with it were amazing too. It's fun mixing and matching combinations! I totally recommend the rib meat with wasabi! The sharp wasabi goes really well with the rich, tender meat~

The aged meat also went well with onion and white kimchi! Personally, I found the gabrisal the best of all, because it was tender, with a good chew and lots of flavor :)

What if you add shabu-shabu to the set for ₩15,000?

When you order a set at Migsikga's, you only pay ₩15,000 more as an option and the shabu-shabu comes out like this!!! This is the shabu-shabu we ate after finishing the meat, haha. My husband likes grilled meat, and I love shabu-shabu, so it satisfied both of our tastes and we were super happy, haha.

You push the meat and vegetables from the edge into the broth in the center and eat. I was amazed by how big it looked, then amazed again by the tender meat and tasty broth, and we scraped it clean and left nothing.

The entrance and the atmosphere inside

Migsikga's is on the 2nd floor, so go in through the entrance in the photo and climb the stairs to the 2nd floor! The lunch special is so famous that you've probably noticed it at least once while passing by~

The inside is a clean wood tone. Many seats are divided into separate booths, so it felt comfortable to eat just the two of us, which I liked even more.

If you're looking for a good-value BBQ place in Daeyeon-dong, or a different kind of BBQ restaurant where you can have grilled meat and shabu-shabu at once, I recommend Migsikga's Grill & Shabu!
