Lately every night I get hit with cravings and start dreaming of hot soup 🤤 So today I'm bringing an honest review of a place you can hit up anytime late at night without any pressure and eat until you're stuffed! A Sinjeongnegeori favorite, a donkatsu (pork cutlet) spot — Haengbokhan Udon Gage Sinjeongnegeori. Here's my review after enjoying the cheese donkatsu 👉

But the biggest advantage is definitely the hours!! Open from lunchtime with no break time, all the way until 3am — making it a true late-night sanctuary near Sinjeongnegeori that's great to visit anytime you want, day or night 🌜
Inside the restaurant: seating and solo dining
Haengbokhan Udon Gage Sinjeongnegeori Station Branch fits about 12 tables, a mix of 2- and 4-seaters. It has a wood-toned retro interior, so it feels comfortable for solo dining too.
Walking inside, the warm, retro, wood-toned mood was noticeable everywhere ✨
The store had various seating — 2-seaters, 4-seaters — and was spacious enough for about 12 tables. It felt comfortable for eating alone!
From vintage posters full of old-school charm to cute little details, there was fun in looking around everywhere — it felt like being at a secret hideout 😎
There's a self-serve bar on one side of the restaurant, so refilling side dishes was easy 👍
Menu and prices: what two people ordered
The menu at Haengbokhan Udon Gage Sinjeongnegeori Station Branch is varied, from all kinds of udon to soba, memil (buckwheat noodles), donkatsu, rice bowls, and drinking snacks. The two of us ordered the cheese donkatsu (₩11,900) and the whole shrimp rice bowl (₩11,900).

How the cheese donkatsu and whole shrimp rice bowl tasted
The cheese donkatsu at Haengbokhan Udon Gage Sinjeongnegeori Station Branch had cheese packed edge-to-edge inside the batter, giving it a stunning cheese-pull look. The whole shrimp rice bowl came in a tin pot, with about eight whole shrimp inside.
Side dishes are kimchi and pickled radish. Not shown in the photo, but you also get a soybean paste soup with fried tofu ~
First, let me introduce the cheese donkatsu, which was the tastiest thing we had 🧀
The cheese donkatsu had savory, soft cheese packed completely inside the freshly fried batter, no gaps at all ㅠㅠ!!

Dip it in the tangy-sweet donkatsu sauce and take a bite, and your mouth fills with the savory burst of cheese...! I completely understood why this place is known as a Sinjeongnegeori donkatsu favorite 👍🌟
Add the cabbage salad, corn kernels, and jalapeños that come alongside, and you can enjoy it savory and not greasy right down to the last bite ✨️
Next up is the spicy whole shrimp rice bowl!! 🦐 It came in a charming tin pot, which somehow made it look even more appetizing haha
Inside were plump shrimp and vegetables braised in a spicy-sweet sauce, topped with seaweed flakes. There were about eight whole shrimp 🥳
Mixing the sauce into the rice and topping it with a plump shrimp, the chewy, springy texture combined with the spicy sauce hit the spot — really satisfying 🤤🌟
