Coex mall curry restaurant: ₩40,000 Set C for two, India The Durbar
In short
India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch is an Indian curry restaurant on the basement floor near Samseong Station in Gangnam, Seoul, a 10-minute walk from exits 3 and 4 and close to the POSCO intersection. On a weekday visit at 8pm, the Set C for two (₩40,000) brought chicken mushroom soup, six pieces of boneless tandoori chicken, two curries (butter chicken and chicken tikka masala), rice, plain naan and a drink, with an extra butter naan ordered on the side. The plain naan turned out chewier than the butter naan, and the spread is generous enough to make India The Durbar an easy value pick near Coex.

Today I'm writing up my visit to India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch, an Indian curry restaurant near Coex! I was hunting for a good Indian curry spot near Samseong Station Coex when a friend who works nearby recommended this place — and honestly, the value for money was amazing and everything tasted great?! They also have set menus, so it seems like a great option for office workers looking for an affordable Indian curry lunch. Let me walk you through my visit and the menu!
Where is India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch, and what are its hours?
India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch is about a 10-minute walk from exits 3/4 of Samseong Station on Line 2! It's actually a bit closer to the POSCO intersection. There are tons of offices around that area, so it looked like a great affordable spot for lunch or dinner for office workers, haha.
They're open 11:00 to 23:00, so there's plenty of time to visit for lunch or dinner! *Just note last order is at 22:30.
India The Durbar menu: what do the sets cost?
Here's the menu at India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch, an Indian curry spot near Coex! They have quite a variety of dishes!

The lunch menu is available from 11am to 2pm!

There are two set options, priced between ₩30,000 and ₩36,000 for two people. Since curry, naan, rice, tandoori chicken, and a drink are all included, it's a great value option for office workers' lunch!
There are also various set menus you can enjoy in the evening. À la carte options include vegetable/regular curries, naan, salads, appetizers, tandoori chicken, fried rice, pasta, and stir-fried noodles. Besides drinks, they also sell beer, whiskey, and wine, so it looked like a good spot for a work dinner for people near Samseong Station too!
Inside the basement-floor dining hall: is there a wait?

The restaurant's vibe was just... India itself!!! That kind of feeling, haha.

It's something I always notice at Indian curry restaurants, but India The Durbar near Samseong Station Coex also had Indian music playing with Indian-style interior decor! And a local staff member was cooking and serving, which made it feel even more authentic!! It's on the basement floor, but the interior was really clean and spacious!

Tables ranged from 2-person to large group seating, but if you come during lunch peak hours there might be a wait! I visited around 8pm on a weekday, and while it was busy, there was no wait :)
What comes with the ₩40,000 Set C for two?
We ordered the India The Durbar Set C! Set C includes
- Chicken mushroom soup
- 6 pieces of boneless tandoori chicken
- Choice of 2 curries
- Rice
- Plain naan
- Cola/Sprite
That's the lineup! At ₩40,000 for two, it's wayyyy better value than ordering everything separately?! And these days, ₩40,000 for two people's dinner felt really affordable, plus the portions were so generous that we ate really well!!

First up was the chicken mushroom soup!

I'm not usually a fan of chicken soup, but this one didn't have much of that chicken smell and warmed up my stomach nicely before the meal — really delicious.

Butter chicken vs chicken tikka masala: how they differ
And then the curries came out! For curry, we ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka masala.

Butter chicken was a bit sweeter with a stronger buttery aroma! Chicken tikka masala had no sweetness and was a curry with an added spicy kick! Both were so good...

There was a generous amount of chicken inside too, so it was great to eat as a curry + rice + meat combo, and the portion was surprisingly large?!

Six pieces of boneless tandoori chicken
And the tandoori chicken!! It came out as 6 pieces, and they were really substantial-sized pieces so I got super full, haha. Given the price, I didn't expect the pieces to be this big, and it was such a pleasant surprise.

Why the plain naan beat the extra butter naan
And the plain naan and rice!! The naan was really big in size. Even though it was just plain naan, it was so chewy it felt like eating sourdough! I also love butter naan so I ordered that too as an extra, but the plain naan turned out to be even tastier — they really know how to make chewy naan!
If you're looking for an affordable, office-worker-friendly restaurant near Samseong Station Coex, definitely check out India The Durbar!!! Seriously highly recommend!!! The menu lineup is great, the price is so reasonable, and the food is delicious — you'd be missing out if you don't go!!!
