Dongtan hair salon volume magic perm with a kids room: Juno Hair

Today I went to "Juno Hair Dongtan Solbitnaru Branch" to get volume magic on my short hair!🩵

My mom's hair had gotten really long and was also pretty damaged, and she was upset about it ㅠㅠ So to celebrate fall, we came to get her hair done nicely🤍

Juno Hair Dongtan Solbitnaru Branch is located at 65 Dongtansolbit-ro, Jeongrim Plaza 2F, Dongtan-gu, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are daily 10:00–21:00, and you can use the building's basement parking.

Inside the salon: Brown Zone, White Zone and the private spa room

The inside of Juno Hair Dongtan Solbitnaru Branch felt very open and spacious! Right as you step off the elevator, there's a spot where they check your reservation!

Further in there's a space for consultation or waiting! This is where I discussed what style to get with the designer☺️

There are lockers for storing clothes or bags, and you can keep the key in the pocket of your gown, which is nice.

They also sell some pricey, nice hair products☺️

They had books, magazines, and comics ready, so the time getting my hair done never felt boring!

The space is largely split into a Brown Zone and a White Zone.

And there's a shampoo room / spa room where you can get a head spa or protein treatment, and it even had a private single-person spa room!

The private spa room has a door you can close, so being able to relax comfortably while getting hair care is honestly a huge plus!!

The chairs in the Brown Zone were all comfortable and had a café-like feel, so waiting for my hair was actually enjoyable🫶

There's even a VIP seat, and the vibe there feels like walking into a luxury boutique!!

This is the restroom — since it's Dongtan, there are a lot of kids around, so the walls are padded with carpet-like material in case they bump into them. Caring about kids' safety like that is seriously impressive..!👍 The restroom itself was really clean too, like walking into a gallery.

The kids room: why Juno Hair Dongtan Solbitnaru works with children

Juno Hair Dongtan Solbitnaru Branch has a kids room. And here's the surprising part!! I've been to a lot of different Juno Hair branches, and this is the first one I've seen with a kids room!!

Having a space where kids can wait and rest while their hair (or mom's hair) is being done is what sets this branch apart from other Juno Hair locations! I highly recommend this as a hair salon in Dongtan that's great to bring kids to🥰

Inside, it's cushy and comfortable with beanbags, plus comics, blocks, and a big TV👍

And they even serve delicious, high-quality cookies and tea! Taking care of the people waiting too — I loved that so much💕

Before: short hair six months after a volume magic perm

Now let's get into the before and after!

It had been about six months since her last volume magic (straightening perm), so her hair had gotten a lot longer, looked frizzy and dry, and there was no trace of the straightening effect left at all!

How the volume magic perm for short hair in your 50s was done

1. We sat down with designer Sia and discussed what style to go for! She already had a style in mind, so we decided on a cut, volume magic, and to add protein care and moisture balance to help with the dryness✨

2. After shampooing, they did the cut, then applied the care and straightening solution. In between, they added protein care at the ends to keep the hair from getting further damaged!

3. They carefully worked the straightening from the bottom up!

4. She got the moisture balance care! I really recommend never skipping this!! Straightening is a treatment that can be pretty tough on the hair, and getting this care versus not makes a huge difference!! And she said that while getting it, she felt like a lot of everyday stress melted away too, haha

After: the layered short-hair result

Here's the final after!! It came out looking almost like a blunt bob, so we asked for a little layering, and designer Sia was so kind about accommodating every request!! It was so satisfying that she gave us exactly what the customer wanted!! With the layers added, the hair definitely looked lighter and more stylish, and we loved it!!

Here's the after! Honestly, is it even possible for a straightening perm to leave hair looking this healthy and pretty!?!? hahaha My hair turned out exactly the way I wanted!!

+They even gave us a ziplock bag to store earrings in, which was such a nice touch! Seriously, how is it that Juno Hair staff are always this kind?? Designer Sia was so friendly that I felt happy the entire treatment!!! All the other staff were super kind too, haha
