Toowoomba pasta and jambon oat risotto in Yeonnam-dong: Hôtel de
In short
Hôtel de Couture is a Western-food restaurant in a Yeonnam-dong alley in Mapo, Seoul, within walking distance of Hongik University Station. Seated by the sunny window, the order came through the table QR code: oat risotto piled with jambon, nutty once the egg yolk is broken and stirred in, and Toowoomba pasta with thick-cut bacon in a rich, creamy sauce. Hôtel de Couture is cozy rather than spacious, which makes it a good stop on a Yeonnam-dong date course.

There are so many pretty, delicious spots popping up in Yeonnam-dong lately, but I found one hotspot that nails both vibe and taste!! It's Hôtel de Couture, the Western-food place near Hongik University Station that's been getting word of mouth.
It's in a Yeonnam-dong alley that's an easy stroll from Hongik University Station, so accessibility is great!

Finding the entrance: what Hôtel de Couture looks like inside
From the building's exterior, Hôtel de Couture gives off serious European vibes, so I felt good the moment I walked up~~ There's a neatly set-up usage guide board and standing sign at the entrance, making it easy to check the menu or entry info!

Stepping inside, the interior was decorated warmly and classically! The soft lighting mixed with wood-tone furniture gave it so much atmosphere ㅠㅠ

You could tell every table setting was thought through~ Even the phrases printed on the plates and the neatly arranged cutlery were so pretty I couldn't help but take photos ㅜ_ㅜ

Ordering by table QR code, and why the window seats win
Ordering at Hôtel de Couture is really convenient too!! You just scan the QR code placed at each table to order smartly, which was so easy — good good.
The weather was so nice the day I went that just eating while looking out the window felt like therapy! Sunlight poured in and the mood was so lovely I thought this would be perfect for a Yeonnam-dong date spot.

How do the jambon oat risotto and Toowoomba pasta taste?
Finally, the main dishes I ordered arrived! Just the visuals alone made my mouth water, haha.

The first thing I tried was the oat risotto piled generously with jambon. Chewy, nutty oat risotto came topped with plenty of salty, soft jambon ham! Popping the egg yolk in the center and mixing it in — the harmony of nuttiness and saltiness was art ㅠㅜ So good.
The ham in particular had real smokiness and incredible umami — anyone who likes jambon will be totally satisfied 👍
The toombak pasta I ordered alongside had big, thick slices of bacon on top, which gave it a really nice texture. The slightly spicy, thick cream sauce clung to the noodles so well that I kept eating without getting tired of it!! Living up to its reputation as a signature pasta spot in Yeonnam-dong, everything from the noodle doneness to the sauce's flavor was perfect — the best.

Mirror photo zone, restroom and other amenities
Inside, there's a photo zone that's great for mirror selfies, and the restroom is kept clean inside the store, making it convenient to use! Hôtel de Couture let me spend a perfect time with tasty Western food and a great atmosphere.
If you're looking for a nice-vibe date course or a great pasta restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, I definitely recommend paying a visit!!

Is Hôtel de Couture worth it for a Yeonnam-dong date?
Around Hongik University Station or near Yeonnam-dong's Yeontral Park, there are countless restaurants and cafés lined up, but when you actually try to find a nice space to bring someone special, it can be hard to decide. Discovering a Western restaurant like this one, where atmosphere, taste, and friendliness are all on point, made for a really satisfying day haha.
The interior isn't super spacious, but it's decorated in a cute, cozy way that gives it a special hideout kind of feeling!! Every dish clearly showed the freshness of the ingredients, and the overall serving and store management were kept clean, so I could enjoy the meal comfortably the whole time~
It'd be fun to watch how the unique scenery of the Yeonnam-dong alley outside the window changes with the seasons, too. Next time I'd like to visit in the evening and pair the food with a glass of wine or an ade. Both the taste and the atmosphere were satisfying, so I think I'll be back again soon!! Highly recommend.
