These days, eating out can feel like a splurge — not just for the food, but for the drinks too. This time I went looking for a place with good meat and affordable drinks, and ended up at Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch.

Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch is on the 2nd floor at 110 Jungdong-ro 254beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, about 223m from Exit 3 of Sinjung-dong Station. It's open daily from 12:00 to 24:00 with last order at 23:00, and parking is free.

This Bucheon samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) spot is about a 5-minute walk from Sinjung-dong Station Exit 3, so it was easy to get to by public transit too. It's on the 2nd floor of the building, and the floor-to-ceiling windows make the restaurant easy to spot from outside.

A clean dining room that also fits big groups

The interior of Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch was clean and fairly spacious overall, and the big windows gave it an open, airy feel rather than a cramped one. Walking in, the staff greeted us cheerfully, which made a great first impression.

On a nice day, it almost felt like eating meat outdoors, which was a nice touch. The tables were spaced out well and there were seats for larger groups, so it seemed like a good spot for both work dinners and family meals.

Baby chairs and the self-serve bar for families

They also had baby chairs ready for guests visiting with kids, so families can eat comfortably here too — a real Bucheon samgyeopsal spot for everyone!!!

There was also a self-serve bar on one side where you could grab extra side dishes or tableware yourself.

Soju and beer for 1,500 won: the price that surprised me

One of the most striking things about Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch was the drink pricing. These days a bottle of soju or beer often costs ₩5,000 or more at restaurants, but here soju and beer are ₩1,500.

At first I thought I'd misread it, so I double-checked. Imported beer is also ₩2,500, which has to be great news for anyone who likes a drink alongside their meat.

The side dishes at Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan

The basic side dishes included lettuce wraps, sliced scallions, kimchi, garlic, ssamjang (thick soybean paste) and sauces — a solid lineup to go with the meat, no complaints there.

Bangatgan A Set: four cuts of pork in one order

Tables at Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch have tablets, so you can browse the menu at your own pace and order right away. There were plenty of single-item options, but since I wanted to try a few different cuts, I ordered the Bangatgan A Set.

The A Set comes with pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl and smoked makchang together, so I liked being able to enjoy a variety of cuts all at once.

We started by grilling the pork belly and pork neck. As soon as the meat hit the hot grill, the sizzling sound and savory smell filled the restaurant — honestly, that moment is always the most exciting part of a BBQ place haha.

Once the meat arrived, the thickness looked good and the color was appetizing, so I couldn't wait to get it on the grill.

The pork belly grilled up nicely crisp; I wrapped it in lettuce with scallions and garlic and took a big bite — pork belly really is hard to get wrong.

Grilling it with minari (water dropwort) made for a really fragrant, perfect pairing!! The pork jowl in particular had that chewy-yet-crunchy texture that's so appealing. Its texture was noticeably different from the other cuts, so I was glad we ordered a variety.

Lastly, I tried the smoked makchang, which was chewy and savory in a good way. At this Bucheon samgyeopsal spot, a bite of meat, a spoonful of stew and some rice made for a much more filling meal.

Is Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan the samgyeopsal spot to pick near Sinjung-dong Station?

Overall, I liked the set that let me try a variety of cuts, and I was happy with the clean interior and friendly staff.

Most of all, at a time when eating out feels expensive, ₩1,500 soju and beer really catches your eye. It's also close to Sinjung-dong Station, so it's easy to get to — a good place for family meals, dinners with friends, or work gatherings.

Visiting for lunch and just enjoying the meat, like I did, is great, but next time I'd love to come in the evening and properly enjoy good meat with a cold soju.
