Today I went on a date to Jjamppong Jijon, famous as a Yeoksam Station favorite. I already knew Jjamppong Jijon as a well-known Chinese restaurant chain, but when I found out there was a branch in Yeoksam, I rushed right over! The place is genuinely huge, so it's great whether you're eating alone or with a group.
Where is Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch? Parking and hours

The restaurant is a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Yeoksam Station, so it's close to the subway too. It also has its own parking lot out front — free parking on weekday lunches, and valet for ₩3,000 after 3pm on weekdays.
Hours are 10am–10pm on weekdays and 10am–9pm on weekends! Since it's open late into the evening, it's a great Yeoksam Chinese restaurant for a solo meal or a meetup after work runs long.
Inside the dining room and what's on the self-serve bar

The place is genuinely large, and it even has separate restrooms for men and women inside. There are semi-private room-like spaces as well as lots of two-tops, so I saw a lot of solo diners! With so many seats, you can eat comfortably without feeling cramped.

There's also a self-serve bar, so you can freely grab small plates, pickled radish, jjajangmyeon pickles, rice and more — they even have hair ties available!! The self-serve bar is clean and well-stocked, which explains why so many people come to this Yeoksam Station favorite.

The aprons are disposable, so you can dig into noodle dishes without worrying about splashing your clothes!
Ordering by kiosk: jjamjjamyeon and sticky rice sweet and sour pork

Ordering is easy — just use the kiosk at your table! The menu covers Jjamppong Jijon's signature dishes like jijon jjamppong, jijon jjajangmyeon, jjamjjamyeon, sujebi jjamppong, rice-noodle jjamppong, soft tofu jjamppong rice and crab fried rice, plus a variety of dishes like yuringi (crispy chicken), fried eggplant, gganpung shrimp and Sichuan-style sweet and sour pork — loved having so many options.

We couldn't decide between jjamppong and jjajangmyeon, so we ordered jjamjjamyeon plus sticky rice sweet and sour pork!! The prices are reasonable for Yeoksam and Gangnam. You can also upsize to a large portion, so guys with a bigger appetite should go for the larger size.
How the food tastes: freshly fried sticky rice pork and smoky jjamppong

Turnover at Jjamppong Jijon is fast, so the food came out right away, which I loved.

Our food arrived after just 10 minutes of waiting! The sweet and sour pork was fried fresh and truly crispy, and since it's made with sticky rice, it was super chewy too. Best texture I've had in sweet and sour pork in a while!

The combination of the crispy coating outside and the meat inside, plus the sauce, was perfect — if you love sweet and sour pork, I really recommend trying it at Jjamppong Jijon.

My boyfriend mixed up a trendy sweet and sour pork dipping sauce these days — a little soy sauce with chili powder — and dipping it in that was delicious too~! It seems like it'd be fun to mix up your own sauce to your taste!

Since we couldn't give up either jjamppong or jjajangmyeon, we went with jjamjjamyeon..! It was the best choice — the jjamppong broth had such a strong smoky wok flavor that it was the deepest-tasting jjamppong I've had recently!

I love jjamppong so I always order it whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant, and here the broth was full of smoky flavor with plenty of meat and seafood, making for a really rich jjamppong flavor that I loved.

The broth was so delicious that I even grabbed rice from the self-serve bar and mixed it right into the broth..! This was a day I totally went all out~

The jjajangmyeon was sweet with a full savory depth to it — a flavor that people of all ages would genuinely love~!! If you love both jjamppong and jjajangmyeon, I highly recommend the jjamjjamyeon!
After the meal: restrooms with mouthwash

You can even use mouthwash in the restroom after your meal! Such great service at this restaurant~~

The restaurant is big and spacious so the whole meal felt comfortable, and the food was great too — if you're looking for a Chinese restaurant near Yeoksam Station, give Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch a try~!
