Daeyeon-dong udon spot with ₩1,500 curry egg rice: Misikga-ui Udon

Today I'm reviewing a udon spot in Daeyeon-dong, Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch. I'd heard the name a lot since they also have a location in Centum, and when I had somewhere to be near Daeyeon Station I looked up good restaurants nearby and ended up here.

Where is Misikga-ui Udon? Right beside Daeyeon Station Exit 6

Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch sits right next to Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station. Being so close to the station makes it super convenient by public transit, and apparently there's a parking lot right behind the restaurant too 🚗

I came out of Daeyeon Station Exit 6 and there it was, right beside me haha. Being this close to the station also makes it a great spot for meeting up with people!

Opening hours: all day, no break time

Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch runs from 11am to 10pm with no break time. Not having a break time meant I could drop by whenever suited me haha.

Inside Misikga-ui Udon: solo seats to group tables

This Daeyeon-dong udon spot also runs an izakaya on the side, so the space was huge and comfortable~ There were solo seats and individually separated tables, so I could eat pretty comfortably haha. With such a big space, it's also great for group dinners or gatherings!! When I visited there were quite a few families eating together too.

One unusual thing was that one whole wall was lined with a ton of commendation plaques! Looked like they'd received them for contributing to the franchise industry and revitalizing the local economy — genuinely impressive 👍

By the way, the women's restroom is on the 1st floor and the men's on the 2nd floor, and the women's restroom had disposable mouthwash set out, handy to use after eating haha.

The menu and ₩1,990 draft beer

Besides udon, the menu had a really wide range — hamburg steak, soba, tonkatsu, eel/salmon rice bowls, and more~ In particular the Daeyeon Direct Branch also runs an izakaya for lunch and dinner, so there were simple side dishes too like oden soup, meokte (dried pollack), grilled pollack roe, and gyoza!

One reason I really liked Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch was the draft beer and soju at just ₩1,990!! Draft beer was ₩1,990 for 300cc, and soju was ₩1,990 per bottle no matter the kind. Under 2,000 won means you can enjoy a beer with your meal without a second thought, and it's also great for a casual, budget-friendly drink 🍻

What we ordered at Misikga-ui Udon

• Ten-bukkake udon (cold udon)
• Gake udon + curry egg rice
• 2 glasses of draft beer 300cc

Kake udon (hot broth udon) with vegetable tempura

First up, the most basic item, gake udon. The udon noodles were genuinely so chewy, and the broth was rich and delicious haha. Truly a Daeyeon-dong udon spot worth the name!!

When you order gake udon, vegetable tempura comes along with it, and the staff told me to dip it in the udon broth haha. It was packed with vegetables — onion, carrot, zucchini and more — and it was delicious eaten with the udon!

Curry egg rice for ₩1,500 extra

If you order a set meal, curry egg rice comes free, but for à la carte orders it's just ₩1,500 extra. Even so, for ₩1,500 it felt like such a great deal...! The udon portion was already big, and adding rice on top nearly made my stomach burst 😂

Ten-bukkake udon: cold udon with king shrimp tempura

Next was the ten-bukkake udon (cold udon). It came with two pieces of king shrimp tempura, plus sweet pumpkin tempura and lotus root tempura.

You pour the soy sauce that comes with it over the udon, and the sauce wasn't too salty — the seasoning was just right haha. This kind of cold udon would probably be a real treat in summer!

The shrimp tempura was huge and crispy, and the sweet pumpkin and lotus root tempura were tasty too haha. And the portion was seriously huge!!!

Review event gift and free dessert coffee

Apparently if you take part in their Naver review event you get a bear-shaped towel, but they'd run out, so I got a hiking handkerchief instead!

One more thing I loved about Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch — you even get dessert coffee 👍 I finished off with an iced Americano and enjoyed it thoroughly haha. Best value udon spot in Daeyeon-dong, seriously...

Recommending Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch to anyone looking for good food near Daeyeon Station!! The staff were kind and the place was clean, so overall I was really satisfied haha. Definitely a place I'd go back to :)
