I went to a restaurant near Gyodae Station that catches the eye of office workers on their way home — great value and great taste in one place. Today I'm sharing my review of Gyodaepae, a Seocho / Gyodae Station spot that's earned word-of-mouth fame for its dramatically cheap Korean beef yukhoe (raw beef tartare) and fresh Korean pork belly, chilled not frozen :)

Where Gyodaepae is: the food alley at Gyodae Station Exit 14
Gyodaepae is on the 1st floor of 23 Seochodae-ro 48-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. Come out of Gyodae Station Exit 14 and head into the alley of restaurants, and you'll spot the blue sign. Turn right at the CU convenience store and it's right there.

The sign reads "22 years as a meat master" along with "chilled fresh Korean pork belly." It's close enough to the subway that getting there by public transport is very convenient.

Out front there's a terrace where you can eat outdoors when the weather's cool. It's a pretty solid spot for a quick drink after work or as the venue for a work team dinner.
Inside Gyodaepae and how tablet ordering works

Step inside and you'll find neatly arranged stainless round tables and square seating, with storage space under each chair for bags and coats — so there's little worry about your things picking up a smoky meat smell.

Ordering is done through a tablet system installed at each table. With photos and matching prices for every menu item, I could take my time browsing before ordering.
Gyodaepae menu and prices

- Gyodaepae set ₩43,000
- Chilled fresh pork belly ₩16,000
- Thin-sliced pork belly ₩15,000
- Yukhoe (raw beef tartare) ₩10,000

Overall it's a reasonably priced spot near Gyodae Station, and the standout item is definitely the Korean beef yukhoe, discounted to ₩10,000!!

During lunch hours they also serve hearty set meals like a country-style rice set, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) set, and kimchi jjigae set. Whether you're here for an evening drink or a lunch meal, this Gyodae-area restaurant has you covered.
Gyodaepae's side dishes and special dipping sauce

After ordering, Gyodaepae sets out the basic side dishes piled high in stainless bowls. Seasoned beansprouts, napa cabbage kimchi, seasoned green onion, and radish salad are all generously laid out. For wraps, fresh lettuce and perilla leaves, cheongyang chili peppers, and garlic are set on the table too.

There's a self-serve bar near the kitchen, so you can easily grab extra side dishes and wrap vegetables whenever you need more.

Alongside garlic and ssamjang (dipping paste) for dipping, they bring out Gyodaepae's secret special sauce — minced seasoning and chili blended together in a spicy-sweet-looking mix.
Chilled fresh pork belly, ₩16,000, grilled with vegetables

The chilled fresh pork belly I ordered at Gyodaepae showed off its rosy red color and moist grain — the freshness that only never-frozen meat has.

Being genuinely fresh, un-frozen meat really made a difference ><
Once the meat hit the hot grill, it started giving off a savory meaty smell and cooked up quickly.

As the pork belly fat started dripping down the grill, they piled on beansprouts, kimchi, green onion shreds, and a heap of radish salad to grill together.
When eating the grilled pork belly plain, a light dip in the special sauce worked best. The sharp, tangy seasoning cut through the richness of the fat cleanly — the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for more without getting sick of it!!

Still, thin-sliced pork belly is really about the wrap, isn't it?! Wrapping the grilled pork belly, grilled radish salad, beansprouts, garlic, and ssamjang in a fragrant perilla leaf fills your mouth with rich texture and savoriness.
Korean beef yukhoe for ₩10,000: how much do you get?

While the meat was cooking, I first tried Gyodaepae's ₩10,000 Korean beef yukhoe, and it exceeded expectations. It arrived sprinkled with chopped green onion and sesame seeds over the raw beef.

This much for ten thousand won?(P) The portion was frankly insane, and the seasoning was savory without being overdone. The green onion was the finishing touch!

I have a feeling I'll be back often to this pork belly restaurant near Gyodae Station in Seocho ❤️
Is Gyodaepae worth it? Final verdict

At Gyodaepae I got to experience the perfect combination of quality chilled Korean pork belly with special sauce and grilled vegetables. Plus Korean beef yukhoe at a nice price of ₩10,000, and a warm side soup on the house!

If you're looking for a pork belly restaurant near Gyodae Station that delivers on both value and taste, this is a place worth visiting without hesitation :D
