Ichiba Ramen, a ramen restaurant in Sokcho.

For anyone wondering what to eat with kids on a Sokcho trip, I really want to recommend this place. Japanese ramen made with broth from an authentic Japanese method, plus rice bowls kids can actually eat — this is Ichiba Ramen, a Sokcho ramen restaurant 💛
Where is Ichiba Ramen, and how far is it from MuseumX Sokcho?
Ichiba Ramen is in Yeongnang-dong, Sokcho — just search '348 Jungang-ro, Sokcho' in your navigation. Parking is available roadside or beside the building 👌🏻

It's a place I especially recommend for families visiting MuseumX Sokcho, a popular Sokcho spot to go with kids! Tip: it's a 1-minute walk from MuseumX Sokcho, so you can leave the car and walk over for a meal after your visit ☺️

Lunchtime wait and seats with baby chairs at Ichiba Ramen
I went right at lunchtime after visiting MuseumX Sokcho, and sure enough — true to its reputation as a top ramen spot in Sokcho — every table was full.

There aren't few tables, but there's a bit of a wait at lunchtime! Solo diners mostly sat at the bar seats.

Several baby chairs were ready too, so it's an easy Sokcho restaurant to bring kids to 👍🏻
Ichiba Ramen menu and how kiosk ordering works

✔️ Waitlist via Table-ing — if all tables are full, register on the waitlist.

📌 Ichiba Ramen kiosk ordering and menu — tonkotsu ramen, karai ramen (spicy ramen), miso ramen, butadon, chashudon, karaage and other classic Japanese ramen and rice bowls fill the menu, laid out simply and easy to read at a glance.

On the table there's pickled radish, shichimi pepper, hair ties, and disposable chopsticks ^^ I was hungry, so I picked at a few pieces of pickled radish while waiting.
How were the tonkotsu ramen (9,000 won) and miso ramen (10,000 won)?

Ichiba Ramen's tonkotsu ramen, ₩9,000 — Japanese ramen at this price? A full, satisfying bowl with absolutely no shortcuts despite the low price. The owner of Ichiba Ramen apparently went to Japan in person and trained under five ramen masters there.
A ramen that faithfully recreates the authentic Japanese method

Ichiba Ramen's miso ramen, ₩10,000. I love a salty-savory miso ramen, and this was truly the best miso ramen I've ever had 👍🏻 The broth especially was a flavor I just got lost in!
They put in the care to simmer the broth for 30 hours

Soft, moist meat and noodles with just the right bite. My personal pick is the miso ramen ❤️ Owner, please open a miso ramen branch in the Seoul metro area.
Kids' mini rice bowls: chashudon (5,500 won) and butadon (4,500 won)

Ichiba Ramen's chashudon (char siu rice bowl), ₩5,500. The rice bowls are sized as a side to ramen, so the small portion worked great for my child. Since I mentioned it was for a kid, they left out the onion and green onion. Tip: if it's for a child, ask ahead of time!

Ichiba Ramen's butadon (stir-fried pork rice bowl), ₩4,500. Stir-fried pork with egg — need I say more,, it was so delicious 😍

It's not nearly as spicy as its color suggests, so it pairs well with the ramen and is a spice level kids can handle just fine.

Who should visit Ichiba Ramen in Sokcho?
The owner apparently flew to Japan on a one-way ticket, just to learn ramen-making, and earned high praise from a master there — that's the story behind Ichiba Ramen.
