I went to Ichiba Ramen in Sokcho, Gangwon for lunch! 🍜 The ramen broth was really delicious and the shop was so clean that I left satisfied, so I wanted to write a review. Let me introduce it now!

Where is Ichiba Ramen in Sokcho, and its hours and parking

Ichiba Ramen is at 348 Jungang-ro, Sokcho, Gangwon, and it's open 9:00–21:00 (last order 20:30). You can park roadside in front of the store or beside the building, and if it's full, there's a nearby residential side street or a parking lot by the beach.

The exterior was in a spot that's easy to spot, and there was a waiting area set up in front of the store too.

Bar seats and open kitchen: solo dining at Ichiba Ramen

Inside Ichiba Ramen there's a bar table plus 2-seat and 4-seat tables, so I could sit comfortably without worrying about seats. It looked like a good place for solo diners to eat without any pressure too.

It's an open kitchen, so you can see the cooking happening right in front of you, which gave me more confidence. The interior felt well kept overall, so I could eat with peace of mind about hygiene too. 👍🏻

Is there a restroom inside Ichiba Ramen?

✅️ Restroom — It was so nice that the restroom was inside the shop. Usually when a restaurant's restroom is outside, it's a bit inconvenient to use and you end up worrying about hygiene, but at Ichiba Ramen the restroom is inside, so it was easy to use. Best of all, it was kept clean, so I could use it without any worries even during the meal!

Ordering at Ichiba Ramen was nice because you don't need to say anything to staff — you can choose your menu and pay all at once at the kiosk.

What comes on the table: shichimi, pepper and pickled radish

The table had shichimi, black pepper, and pickled radish to go with the ramen, and there were even hair ties on hand — such a thoughtful touch.

How spicy is the karai ramen at Ichiba Ramen?

The first thing I ordered at Ichiba Ramen was karai ramen (spicy).

I usually like spicy food, so I ordered the spicy ramen. I happened to be starving, and the broth's color looked so fiery just to look at that I wanted to dig in right away.

I tried the noodles, char siu, and broth together, and it was so soft and delicious. I wanted a bit more heat so I sprinkled on some shichimi, and the added kick made it even more delicious. The seaweed(?) had a nice chewy texture too, so I kept eating it, haha.

Red snow crab roe cream ramen: how does it taste?

I wanted cream ramen so I ordered it once, and isn't the look of it just gorgeous°°🩷

Eating the cream ramen together with the red snow crab, I could really bite into chunks of crab, and it paired really well with the savory cream flavor. It was soft and savory, the kind of taste that keeps you reaching for another bite 🫶🏻

Side of gara-age and a nostalgic bottle cola

Looking for a good side to eat with the ramen, I ordered gara-age too! Fresh out of the fryer, warm and crispy, dipped in mustard sauce — it paired so well and was so delicious. 💛

I'd been wanting a bottle cola for a while so I ordered one! It came with a glass of ice too, so I could pour it out and drink it cold, which was even better.

Ate well, and don't forget — finished dishes must be returned ✨️
