Dongtan Station all-you-can-eat restaurant with baby free: Pyeonbaek

A proper belly-filling meal in Dongtan after a long time! This is my review of a weekday evening family dinner at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan Branch haha. I'd heard from the start that this place had good value for money and was curious, but once I actually went, there were even more menu items than I expected to enjoy freely, which was satisfying^^ I think this would also work well for anyone looking for a place for a Dongtan work lunch or a Dongtan group dinner!

Where do you park at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan Branch?

Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan Branch has parking in the basement of the Grandbias Star building near Dongtan Station. The parking alone won me over from the start. We parked easily and headed up haha. When you're eating out with a baby, easy parking is genuinely important lol.

And we visited on a weekday evening!

It was 39,800 won for two people~ But another thing that was great here was that our baby, at 16 months, ate for free haha. Dining out is so expensive these days, so having a young baby eat free like this was such a relief!

Unlimited refills from hinoki steamed dishes to kalguksu

And the most important perk of this place ✨ it's all-you-can-eat! You can enjoy hinoki steamed dishes, shabu-shabu, beef, spring rolls, and kalguksu all unlimitedly. Wait, all of this for this price? was my reaction lol.

True to the name Pyeonbaek Hoegwan (hinoki-cypress restaurant), the hinoki steamed dish comes out first~

There are medicinal herbs mixed in too, so the store has a faint scent of medicinal herbs, which I actually quite liked! It felt kind of healthy lol.

How to eat the hinoki steamed dish is also well explained in the store, so even first-timers could follow along easily^^

When the time comes, a staff member comes over and opens the lid on the hinoki steamed dish and helps you eat~ So we didn't need to worry about anything from the start and could just eat comfortably haha.

Shabu-shabu broths and the self-serve salad bar at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan

After the hinoki steamed dish, it was shabu-shabu time for real!

At the self bar, you just take as much of whatever ingredients you want, so you could use it comfortably without worrying about others.

The shabu-shabu broth options were really varied too. There was tomato, doenjang chicken, beef-bone mala, and more, but we went with the most basic broth~ Still, after eating I wanted to try the other broths next time haha.

And the salad bar had more variety than I expected. There were menus like tteokbokki, mukguksu, fried rice, and there was also bread, so I gave our baby a bit of bread haha. When dining out with a 16-month-old, whether there's something the baby can eat matters a lot, and it was nice that the salad bar had various options!

Vietnamese-style wraps are included too

And it's not just shabu-shabu—you can also enjoy spring rolls~ There's a wide variety of fillings for the spring rolls, and a whopping 3 kinds of sauce! Wrapping the shabu-shabu meat and vegetables into spring rolls felt like eating a totally different dish, which was great!

Eating just one thing over and over can get tiring quickly, but here you eat the hinoki steamed dish, then

shabu-shabu, then spring rolls, then kalguksu, so your stomach really never gets a break lol.

Is Pyeonbaek Hoegwan good with a baby? Playroom and 100-minute limit

And one more point I really liked here! There's a playroom!👏🏻 There's a separate space where babies can play, so if the baby got a bit bored during the meal, we could let them play in the playroom~

Parents who've dined out with a baby know how important this really is lol. Having a playroom meant the kids could play and the parents could enjoy the meal a bit more comfortably^^

That's probably why there were quite a few families around, and it seemed fine for visiting with a group too~ The store's time limit is set at 100 minutes, but as we ate, we never felt short on time^^ In fact, since there was so much on the menu, 100 minutes was plenty to enjoy everything!

Does it work for a Dongtan group dinner or work lunch?

One reason I thought it'd be good for a Dongtan group dinner or gathering is that everyone can self-serve exactly what they want~

People who like meat can eat a lot of meat, people who like shabu-shabu can eat vegetables and meat,

and people who like spring rolls can make and eat spring rolls!

Since everyone can eat according to their own taste, there's less chance of arguing over the menu even in a group~ So people looking for a Dongtan work lunch spot would probably find it quite good for a lunch visit too^^

Finishing with a misugaru slushie

It was satisfying to visit for a family meal with a baby, just like we did.

And right up to the very end, as we ate our fill and headed out, there was even a misugaru slushie for dessert lol.

This was genuinely delicious. Even when full, there's always room for dessert 🤣 It was cool and nutty, perfect as a final palate cleanser haha.

Overall, this is a place with a really wide range of dishes, and being able to enjoy unlimited hinoki steamed dishes, shabu-shabu, beef, spring rolls, and kalguksu made for pretty high satisfaction relative to the price! If you're searching for a Dongtan Station restaurant and looking for somewhere to go with family or for a group dinner, I'd recommend Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan Branch^^ Eating your fill of delicious food, letting the baby play, and finishing with a misugaru slushie!
