Ansan bossam and kalguksu restaurant with an animal farm: Todamok
In short
Todamok is a bossam and kalguksu restaurant on Daejaengi-gil in Seonbu-dong, Ansan. Three people shared a two-person bossam set and chicken kalguksu, then enjoyed coffee and the little animal farm. Verdict: a great family meal spot with easy parking.

It’s over by Daejaengi-gil! It’s in Seonbu-dong, and it was my first time there, but I loved that there was a parking lot.

If you’re looking for a Seonbu-dong restaurant where parking is easy, highly recommend. Because my dad absolutely will not go anywhere without a parking lot.. ^ ^

Todamok’s atmosphere and facilities
This is what the inside looks like. They coordinated the tables, chairs, and molding in brown overall. And something kind of fascinating: the ceiling is seriously high. You can’t tell from the photo, but you’ll know when you come lol.

The restroom was clean and inside the restaurant, which was nice, and they were also running a review event.

The bossam set and kalguksu three people ordered
I took a few photos of the menu. Since there were three of us, I ordered the two-person bossam set plus one chicken kalguksu.

The two-person bossam set basically comes with small bossam, chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), and algoni kalguksu, so honestly, maybe three people could eat just this? But~ we did one menu item per person.

For side dishes, you get seasoned shredded radish and kimchi. People in the reviews said this was a kimchi spot, so I was curious—and it really is a kimchi spot. I got two more refills of just the napa cabbage kimchi hahaha. Once I ordered bossam, that kimchi just went down so easily....

How spicy is the algoni kalguksu?
Algoni kalguksu! I snatched one fish roe sac to try, and both the roe and milt were plump and tasty. I dipped them in the prepared wasabi soy sauce. The broth had a pleasantly spicy kick, so I think it would be great as a hangover cure. It’s manageable if you can eat Shin Ramyun or Yeol Ramyun? Personally, I liked how the oyster mushrooms and minari (water celery) improved the flavor of the broth.

Tender bossam with seasoned pollock and minari
Small bossam. This is the bossam included in the two-person set. I don’t know whether it’s the same portion as when ordered on its own, but it was enough for the three of us to share! Since we were having kalguksu too, this seemed like plenty.

First of all, the meat was tender with absolutely no off smell, and the seasoned pollock and minari was delicious. I actually like things like seasoned minari more than meat. If you go here, please pile the minari salad, ssamjang, meat, and napa cabbage kimchi onto tender napa cabbage and eat it that way.

Chicken kalguksu that is great with kids
Chicken kalguksu!! It was topped with thin egg strips and scallions. The chicken came shredded into easy-to-eat pieces, and there was so much in it that I couldn’t finish it alone.. The kalguksu portion is seriously huge. I think the owner is very generous hahaha.
The algoni kalguksu was a bit spicy for someone like me with a low spice tolerance, so eating a little algoni and then putting out the fire on my tongue with chicken kalguksu is perfect haha. It’s high in protein, and the broth is mild and clean, so I think this is what you should give the kids if you come with them. There were lots of families at the other tables while we ate, too.

Coffee and a place to relax after the meal
I photographed this because it was at the counter when we paid—cute, right? The interior was done up so nicely that it felt a bit like a café selling Korean desserts.

If you like this kind of lush green feel, I think the atmosphere will totally be your taste too.

When you head outside, there’s a coffee machine, iced tea, maesil (plum drink), and an ice maker prepared for dessert!! Honestly, I’m pretty serious about coffee, so I usually don’t like restaurant coffee when I go out.. I stole a sip and thought, huh? Instead of a burnt taste, it had complex notes with some acidity too?? So I immediately made myself a cup as well. It’s an automatic machine, but I think they use good beans. The coffee was decent—recommend.

There’s a big space like this to rest, so you can relax and digest a bit before heading out.

Todam’s Animal Farm
And one more thing.. I became more and more curious about what kind of place this even is. No, there’s an animal farm hahaha. Since it’s Todamok, it’s even called Todam’s Animal Farm. So. Cute.

There are genuinely cute animals, so I think it would be nice to come and look around with young children too. If you’re looking for a family meal or a great kalguksu spot in Seonbu-dong, I recommend it! I’m planning to come by sometimes when I’m craving bossam and kalguksu for lunch. The staff were kind too, and it was such a pleasant meal.
