Gwanak café for herb latte and crumble pie: Pulse Line Coffee

After seeing reviews saying the desserts were good, I visited Pulse Line Coffee (펄스라인커피) on Sha-ro Street by myself. From the menu, I chose the signature Pulse-nal Latte and handmade crumble pie.

Where is Pulse Line Coffee, and when is it open?

It is in a Sha-ro Street alley between Seoul National University Entrance and Nakseongdae stations. The address is 13 Gwanak-ro 14na-gil, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on the first floor in Unit 101. It was an easy stop for coffee and dessert after a meal on Sha-ro Street.

According to the original post, its hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM from Monday through Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sunday.

What is the atmosphere like for reading or working alone?

The space was tidy and cozy without being overly noisy. It seemed comfortable for visiting alone to read, work on a laptop, or study.

What is on the menu, and how much were my orders?

There were various drinks, including coffee, non-coffee drinks, and cold brew, as well as handmade desserts. There was also a range of coffee beans, so it seemed easy for people who prefer decaf or nutty-tasting beans to choose something suited to their taste.

I considered having an Americano with dessert, but became curious about the signature menu. I ordered the Pulse-nal Latte and handmade crumble pie, which were ₩6,500 each. The plate the pie was served on also suited it well.

What does the Pulse-nal Latte taste like?

At first, I wondered whether it was a strawberry latte with a shot of espresso added. After a sip, it felt like cool herbal tea with coffee flavor added, which was a little unfamiliar.

Once I stirred it well, I could better taste the herbal milk and coffee coming together. It was lightly sweet and clean-tasting, and I was glad I had ordered it. The pairing was especially good when I alternated it with the sweet crumble pie.

What was the texture of the handmade crumble pie like?

The top of the crumble pie felt like soboru (sweet streusel), while the pie underneath was sweet and firm. It felt more carefully made one by one than the products I would usually have from shops.

There were other desserts besides the pie, but since I was visiting alone, I could not try several kinds. I liked the crumble pie and would like to try other desserts next time.
