Once a month my husband gets a company "refresh day" off, so we finally went on a weekday brunch date after a long while. He loves to chat, so whenever I tell him I had brunch with a friend from the neighborhood, he gets so jealous.
So today we went together to Tobeu Nain (토브나인), a famous spot in Pangyo. The atmosphere is a given, and to me it felt like the textbook brunch place. Let me introduce it!

What is the atmosphere at Tobeu Nain like?

Famous as a brunch café in the Bundang and Pangyo area, Tobeu Nain is a big standalone building with plenty of parking, so you can visit comfortably without worrying about where to park.

Step inside and the luxurious antique interior catches your eye, so impressive it made me gasp.
Even though we came right at opening, it quickly filled up with people, as you'd expect from a well-known Pangyo brunch spot!
Watching wood-fired pizza being made right in front of you
Since Tobeu Nain specializes in wood-fired pizza, you can watch everything from the dough to the moment it goes into the oven, which made it extra special. Seeing the pizza made by hand with such care, you can't help but get more excited about the food.

Second-floor seating and a room for gatherings
We were guided to the second floor of Tobeu Nain, which felt more private and cozy than the first floor.
Every little prop showed good taste, and photos came out pretty from any angle, so I got several shots for my profile picture. There's also a room on one side that several people can use together, so it would be perfect for gatherings too.
Tobeu Nain brunch set for two: what's included and the price

The Tobeu Nain brunch set for two costs ₩62,000 and includes pizza, pasta, salad and coffee; switching the coffee to a latte adds ₩500. We ordered easily on the tablet set up at each table.
The menu has a variety of mains such as pasta, wood-fired pizza and 1++ grade hanwoo (Korean beef) steak, plus signature desserts like the soufflé pancake and egg tart, and specialty coffee. We wanted to taste a bit of everything, so we ordered the brunch set for two.
Americano and café latte

The coffee came out first. My husband had an Americano and I had a café latte. It had almost no acidity and a nutty, roasty bean that suited our tastes perfectly.
The portion of coffee was generous too, so we could enjoy it at leisure all through the meal.

Once all the dishes arrived, the table looked like a picture. Each dish was set out with care and looked pretty, so it was a treat for the eyes too.
Above all, the scenery and atmosphere around the food really gave us that date-day feeling.
Ricotta cheese salad

Tobeu Nain's ricotta cheese salad is a hearty bowl of seasonal fruit and vegetables, picked for health, with house-made ricotta.
I love ricotta, and the chunks of cheese were quite big, so I was thrilled to eat as much as I wanted. You also get to try a variety of colorful fruit. Definitely a menu I recommend!

The leftover salad goes really well alongside the pizza too. The crunch of fresh vegetables made it even healthier and tastier.
Margherita wood-fired pizza

Isn't margherita the basic, classic pizza? It's said that the colors of tomato, mozzarella and basil resemble the Italian flag, which makes it the pizza that represents Italy.
Tobeu Nain's margherita has no fancy toppings, yet the chewy dough and savory cheese come through, so you can fully feel the charm of wood-fired pizza.
Truffle white ragù pasta

The pasta we picked was the truffle white ragù. It was my husband's choice, since he loves ragù pasta.
The sauce, with meat and various herbs for a deep flavor, was topped with cheese piled up like snow, and it looked delicious just to look at.

The cheese was added just enough not to be heavy, and it blended well with the vegetables and the moderately seasoned meat. It was a mild, clean taste, so even spooning up just the sauce felt light.
I usually eat cream or oil pasta, so tasting ragù after a long time felt fresh and different!
How was Tobeu Nain as a weekday brunch date?
With delicious brunch, wood-fired pizza and a lovely space, Tobeu Nain was just right for a relaxed date with my husband after so long!
The spacious, pleasant interior and the private room make it more than good enough for a brunch gathering too. If you're looking for a brunch or date spot in Pangyo, I strongly recommend visiting Tobeu Nain.
