Seoul open-air pocha with spicy gopdoritang: Hansabal Pocha Sadang
In short
Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch is a banyajang-style (semi-open-air) pocha bar on Bangbaecheon-ro near Sadang Station in Seocho, Seoul. The order was the signature gopdoritang (spicy chicken and beef intestine stew) with extra udon noodles, cheese old-school toast, flying fish roe rice balls and draft beer, and the spicy version burned about as hot as fire noodles. With roomy open-air seating, Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch works well for a cool-evening work dinner or group night out.

Why we chose Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch for drinks near Sadang Station
If you're looking for a spot near Sadang Station for a work dinner or a get-together, I've got a recommendation: Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch!
The atmosphere is perfect for a visit on a night like this, with the evening breeze turning cool. September really is the season for yajang (outdoor pocha seating)!!!!!!
Unlike a typical indoor pocha, this place has a banyajang (semi-open-air) feel that's open and breezy — really nice for drinking.
Retro interior and open-air seating at Hansabal Pocha
The first thing that caught my eye walking in was the interior, full of retro charm. Menu posters covering the walls and drum-can stools kept the classic pocha atmosphere alive.

Seating was generous, so it looked fine for both small get-togethers and larger work dinners — and sure enough, there were plenty of office worker groups there when I visited. Sadang really is a gathering spot!
What's on the menu and what we ordered
Browsing the menu at Hansabal Pocha was half the fun.

Hansabal Pocha really had a huge range — from gopdoritang to yukhoe (beef tartare), dakbal (chicken feet), bulgogi, and toast — basically every pocha dish you could think of. We went classic and ordered the house specialties: gopdoritang, old-school toast, and flying fish roe rice balls!
That day I was in more of a mood to eat a real meal than just drink, and the menu turned out to be tasty and hearty enough to fill us up while we had a drink alongside it!

How spicy is the spicy gopdoritang?
The gopdoritang passed the visual test before I even took a bite. Bubbling away, it looked great.

The chicken was chewy and tender, the daechang (beef intestines) were bigger chunks than I expected and had good bite, and above all the broth was seriously compelling. Spicy and sharp, the kind of flavor that makes you want a drink. (I ordered the spicy version and it was fire-noodle level!)
It wasn't an in-your-face harsh spice but an addictive kind that kept pulling me back in — my spoon didn't stop. There were also plenty of potatoes and carrots inside, making it the kind of dish you want a whole bowl of rice with.
Adding the udon noodles is a must! The noodles soak up the seasoning deeply and come out spicy — genuinely delicious.

Cheers~~~~!!!!!! A pocha needs draft beer. The pairing of spicy gopdoritang with cold draft beer needs no explanation.
The surprise hit: cheese old-school toast
The old-school toast we ordered alongside was also better than expected.

Crispy on the outside and loaded with cheese on top, it was sweet and savory. It also helped cut through the spiciness of the gopdoritang, so I was glad we ordered it — you can just get it as part of the set combo :)

With the banyajang setup letting a breeze drift in and a cold beer in hand, the vibe was genuinely great.

Flying fish roe rice balls complete the table
It made a great side for drinks, but the gopdoritang portion was generous enough that it worked fine as a dinner visit too, and the flying fish roe rice balls we ordered alongside were satisfying as well!
The rice balls were packed with flying fish roe, giving a nice popping texture, and eating them with the spicy gopdoritang broth was a great combination.

One bite of rice ball, a spoonful of gopdoritang broth, then back to the rice ball — a combo I kept craving throughout. I still want it again right now!
Final verdict on Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch
If you're looking for a bar near Sadang Station, Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch is more than satisfying! Chewy chicken and hearty daechang-packed gopdoritang, udon noodles soaked in spicy seasoning, and old-school toast loaded with cheese — nothing on the table disappointed.
The banyajang style makes it especially good to visit in weather like this, and the open, breezy atmosphere means it's a strong recommendation for work dinners or group gatherings. It's great as a drinking side dish and hearty enough as a full meal, so if you're on the hunt for a good spot near Sadang Station, give it a try!!!

And to finish it off — a limited-edition treat I barely managed to snag after waiting in line in Jamsil!!!!!!
