Sadang Station bar for jalapeño pizza and bone-in chicken: Weizenhaus
In short
Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1 is a craft beer bar on the basement level, a 1-minute walk from Sadang Station Exit 11 in Seocho, Seoul. The writer visited with her husband and ordered the bacon jalapeño pizza, the crispy chicken and a Budweiser Zero non-alcoholic beer: the pizza cheese stretched like a waterfall, and the crispy chicken arrived as a whole bone-in bird, plenty for two. With high ceilings, an industrial interior and widely spaced tables, Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1 suits both group meetups and dates near Sadang Station.

My husband and I went to Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1, well known as a Sadang Station beer bar. With its industrial vibe, it felt more like a pub than a typical bar, and you can order craft beer alongside tacos, pizza and all sorts of menu items. The place is spacious too, good for anything from a Sadang Station group gathering to a date — let me introduce Weizenhaus.
Where is Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1, and which Sadang Station exit?

Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1 is about a 1-minute walk from Sadang Station Exit 11, so it's not hard to find. I took Line 2, and if you're coming from Line 2 it's better to use Exit 13. The shop is on the basement level, and I worried it might feel cramped since it's underground, but it wasn't like that at all.

A basement bar with high ceilings and two levels
Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1's industrial interior made it feel closer to a pub than a typical dim bar. Even though it's in the basement, the ceilings are high so it doesn't feel stuffy, and one side has a loft-like second floor structure. Heading down from the entrance, there's a metal staircase partway that divides the space into two floors.

It's chair seating, so sitting or standing wasn't uncomfortable, and the shop is fairly spacious overall. The atmosphere was quite lively, but the tables were spaced generously so it still felt relaxed. There's also an in-store restroom further inside, which was convenient. With the roomy space and comfortable seating, it's good for a Sadang Station meetup or drinks with friends.
What's on the Weizenhaus menu?
Rather than being a place that just serves craft beer, Weizenhaus has a wide range of food menu items, making it good for both a meal and drinks. Highlights include crispy chicken, pizza, tacos, pasta, barbecue, fish and chips, squid, dried pollack, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and churros.
For drinks especially, this is a craft beer bar where you can pick to your taste — from craft beer types like Weiss, golden ale, pale ale, India pale ale, Harry Potter dark ale, to highball, soju and wine. Coming here for a Sadang Station group gathering, everyone could pick their own food and drink and it would still work out fine.
Bacon jalapeño pizza with cheese that stretches like a waterfall

The bacon jalapeño pizza comes in 8 slices and was larger than an adult's outstretched hand. The bacon and jalapeño toppings were in a good amount, and I asked for hot sauce separately. The jalapeños tasted like the usual store-bought pickled kind, spicy enough that I didn't feel the need to add hot sauce. The cheese on Weizenhaus pizza is seriously abundant!

When you lift a slice, the cheese stretches out like a waterfall, just like pizza from a specialty pizza place. Pizza and beer — do I even need to say it, haha. I think the reason Weizenhaus is a great spot for pijaek (pizza and beer) is exactly that stretchy cheese. Honestly though, I like chimaek (chicken and beer) even more.

Crispy chicken: a whole bone-in bird, plenty for two
At a beer bar, it's got to be chicken and beer, right? When ordering the crispy chicken, I figured a beer bar's chicken would be intensely salty with thick, heavy batter, but it was better than expected — genuinely surprised. Truly crispy through and through!!

It's not boneless — a whole bone-in chicken — and the bird isn't small, so it's plenty for two people. The batter isn't thick, giving a crispy, crunchy texture. There are two sauces, mustard and seasoned chicken sauce, and I liked the seasoned chicken sauce more.

Not drinking? Budweiser Zero non-alcoholic beer
We also ordered Budweiser Zero non-alcoholic beer instead of alcohol. I'm currently off drinking, so it was nice that a craft beer bar also had a Budweiser non-alcoholic option on the menu. Delicious chicken, pizza, and beer too! For pijaek and chimaek in Sadang, it's Weizenhaus.
I visited Weizenhaus, a Sadang Station bar close to the station where you can enjoy craft beer along with pizza and chicken. The place is spacious and the menu is varied, so it's worth considering when you're looking for a spot for a Sadang Station gathering.
