Suji-gu Office bar with chicken wing combo and soju: Bacha Suji

Today I'm bringing you a review of a place I genuinely loved visiting after a long time — 'Bacha Suji Branch,' the mood king of bars near Suji-gu Office Station. It's perfect for a second round too, and nothing was missing, from the quality of the food to the atmosphere, so I really wanted to introduce it!

Where is Bacha Suji Branch, and how do you get there?

Bacha Suji Branch is located at 16-6 1st floor, Pungdeokcheon-ro 129beon-gil, Suji-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It's in an alley near Suji-gu Office Station, so it's very easy to get to.

What the name Bacha (VARCHAR) actually means

The name Bacha Suji Branch comes from the programming term 'VARCHAR.' The place felt so stylish and thoughtfully designed that I looked into it, and it turns out an 8-year developer and UX designer, whose after-work drinks were the highlight of the day, left their company after long deliberation to open this space!

I thought it was such a fresh idea that the brand name crosses 'VARCHAR' (a data type that holds various kinds of storage) with the mood of a 'bar,' and the familiar menu of a 'pocha' (street food tent). Wanting to create a bar in Suji with real atmosphere, without having to go all the way to Hongdae or Seongsu, they opened this first branch in Suji, and it's been loved for over 5 years now, expanding to Pangyo and Seoul Munjeong branches too.

Sous vide pork jowl & chive salad that melts in your mouth

The first thing to arrive at Bacha Suji Branch was the sous vide pork jowl! Even just visually, it was glistening and looked absolutely delicious.

Maybe because it was cooked sous vide, the meat was incredibly tender and melted the moment it hit my mouth! The savory flavor and softness unique to pork jowl came together perfectly.

Dipping it, according to my mood, in the scallion salad that came alongside, the sharp wasabi, or the clean salt, it never got boring and was just so good. The moment I took the first bite I let out an 'ah, this is the perfect drinking snack!' The soju just kept flowing down.

The wing-bone combo: crisp outside, juicy inside

Next up was the wing-bone combo, and it was a visual that genuinely made me gasp.

It was grilled to a perfect golden brown with no burnt spots at all — crispy outside, moist inside. What really stood out was that the seasoning wasn't just sitting on the surface; it had soaked all the way into the meat, so every bite exploded with savory flavor. Ordered alongside the pork jowl, it was the best possible pairing.

Terrace seats, atmosphere and the verdict on Bacha Suji

The interior atmosphere at Bacha Suji Branch was really pleasant and comfortable, and there were plenty of people already enjoying company dinners! In particular, the outdoor terrace seating had such a lovely, sentimental vibe. Sitting on the terrace with a drink in hand while the breeze blows on a nice day would melt away all your stress.
