Seoul late-night bar in Bangbae: house white wine bottle at Dophan
In short
Dophan is a Korean-style cooking pub in Seocho, Seoul, a short walk from Sadang Station, popular with Sadang and Bangbae office workers for second-round drinks and team dinners. Two of us ordered a bottle of house white wine with octopus yuzu ceviche, the signature perilla-oil cappellini with fresh kimchi, and banana brulee, and the food matched the white wine so well that the bottle emptied fast. With a modern interior, roomy table spacing and a separate private room, Dophan works just as well for a small private gathering.

What kind of bar is Dophan, near Sadang Station?
Dophan is a cooking bar (요리주점) on the 2nd floor of Bangbaecheon-ro 6-gil, Seocho-gu, near Sadang Station. We made a special trip out to Sadang today. Sadang is famous for Cheongmo wine, but this wasn't that — we just went for a second-round drink haha. Dophan.

The vibe at Dophan was really good too. The interior is modern, through and through. Drinking wine in an atmosphere like this obviously goes down smoothly~

It's also known as a popular Sadang Station gathering bar, and the moment we walked in, I totally got why! That's how satisfied we were!

Seating and table spacing at Dophan for team dinners
One thing that makes Dophan good for a Sadang Station work dinner is that there are more tables than you'd expect, and the spacing between them is decent too~ Since Dophan is near Sadang Station, it's a great spot for Sadang and Bangbae office workers looking for a second-round bar or a company get-together. If you're planning a gathering near Sadang Station, I recommend Dophan.

What two people ordered at Dophan, plus the bread starter
What we ate at Dophan — there's a lot haha, and this was only the second round!

But every single dish at Dophan was so delicious that I'd fully recommend it as both a Sadang Station restaurant and a Sadang Station bar~ Especially the perilla-oil cappellini with fresh kimchi salad — you have to order it. It's genuinely insane.

Dophan serves pre-meal bread first, and this is a real treat. It's spicy but delicious, oily but delicious haha.

Check the photos for the full menu at Dophan, this Sadang Station bar~

And I said Dophan is a Sadang Station restaurant, right? That's because the side dishes here are insane. If you want a Sadang bar-food spot, this is it!!

House white wine by the bottle: one bottle for two
🍾House bottle white wine. This was supposed to be our second round..! Definitely our second round!!! But since Dophan is famous as a Sadang Station second-round bar, we ordered the house white wine by the bottle. One whole bottle... haha, just the two of us, and we drank it very well. It was nicely chilled, and the food paired so perfectly with the white wine that we kept sipping away until the whole bottle was gone, haha. The house wine is also sold by the glass, so if a bottle feels like too much, I'd recommend the glass option too.

Octopus yuzu ceviche, the best match for the white wine
🐙Tuna octopus yuzu ceviche. Honestly, we ordered this dish because of the white wine. The octopus was tender, the cucumber was sliced through the middle so it wouldn't go soft, the onion and paprika all had just the right crunch, and making it into a ceviche with yuzu — why is it this refreshing!!!
This tuna octopus yuzu ceviche at Dophan is the real deal. You have to try this, seriously have to haha.

Dophan's signature perilla-oil cappellini with fresh kimchi
🍝Perilla-oil cappellini with fresh kimchi salad. Dophan's perilla-oil cappellini with fresh kimchi salad was totally the signature bar snack, right? This place really is a Sadang Station restaurant, I'm telling you..! The freshly-mixed kimchi salad, cappellini coated thoroughly in perilla oil, and when you wrap it with meat — the nuttiness of the perilla oil, the richness of the meat, the crunch of the fresh kimchi salad — what more is there to say, it's just delicious.

You just let the wine wash down the richness from this dish. This one's also a must-order.

Banana brulee to finish the night
🍌Banana brulee. I tried ordering the banana brulee for dessert. I was torn between this and the ube panna cotta, but I wanted that sweet caramelized sugar coating, so I went for this one — and it was good as a dessert.

The vanilla ice cream was tasty too, and dessert is a nice way to end a night of drinking with the group.
Does Dophan have a private room? Atmosphere in Bangbae
Even Suzy has visited this bar, so it must be genuinely good, right? Dophan, the Sadang atmosphere bar. And Dophan also has a separate private room, which was great for having a more private gathering. Just something to note.
The vibe is great, the music is great — a place where you get lost in the atmosphere, the drinks, and the music all at once. Head on over to Dophan, this Sadang Station bar. Great meal again today 😆
