Seoul café gift vouchers and baton financier near Gyodae: Mini Male

I was around Gyodae and wanted coffee and dessert, so I stopped by Mini Male Roastery & Coffee Bar Seocho Gyodae Branch. It's a small shop, but the silver-and-clear interior caught my eye, and what I was most curious about was Mini Male's signature Helsinki Latte. I ended up trying the coffee along with the bakery goods and house-made cookies.

Where is Mini Male Seocho Gyodae Branch and how do you get there?

Mini Male Seocho Gyodae Branch is a roastery-and-coffee-bar located close to Exit 9 of Gyodae Station. Hours are daily 08:00–20:00, weekends 09:00–17:00. There's no parking, but group orders and takeout are both available, and the restrooms are separated by gender.

They roast their own beans in-house, so it's a good spot if you're after specialty coffee near Gyodae. Beyond coffee, they also sell bakery items baked fresh every morning, house-made New York cookies, and whole beans and drip bags — handy whether you just want a quick coffee near the office or you're picking up a gift.

Is there parking at Mini Male?

There's technically room for one or two cars out front, but the rule is not to park there while using the café. On weekends, apparently people sometimes use it briefly while picking up a to-go order, but if you're driving, it's easier to use a nearby public or paid parking lot.

Inside Mini Male: silver and clear-glass interior

Mini Male Seocho Gyodae Branch isn't a large space. But the exterior has a different feel from a typical café, so it caught my eye even just walking past.

There's also a small seating area out front, so on a nice day it looked like a good spot to enjoy coffee outside.

Once you step inside, the first thing you notice is the silver, clear-material interior. The shop itself is compact, but the metal fixtures and transparent tables give it a different mood from a typical bakery café.

It's less about a flashy style and more clean with a slightly futuristic edge — I was impressed by how they gave a small space its own personality.

Mini Male menu and how to order at the kiosk

You order at the in-store kiosks. There are two mini kiosks, so even at busy times like lunch you don't have to wait long to order.

The drinks menu ranges from coffee to cold brew, luxury teas, and ades, and you can also choose your bean.

The menu you can't skip at Mini Male is the Helsinki Latte. It's a signature drink where the owner recreates the best latte they found in Helsinki, Finland, in Mini Male's own way — freshly roasted espresso paired with a dense, rich milk.

Flacher bottled drinks come in 300ml

What I found interesting was the flacher, or bottle, menu. Beyond the Helsinki Latte, they also sell matcha latte and milk tea in bottle form. You can take these home in 300ml bottles, and apparently a lot of people pick one up as an extra to go.

They also have bakery items baked fresh every morning and house-made New York cookies.

I visited in the evening, so a lot of the bakery items were already sold out. If you're a bakery fan, I'd recommend an earlier visit.

Office gift sets and 30,000/50,000-won gift vouchers

This is also a good spot for office gifts. Given how many office workers pass through the Gyodae Station area, they have solid options for group gifts or snacks to share at work. There are beans, specialty drip bags, and house-made cookie gift sets, so it's handy for sharing at the office or preparing a small thank-you gift. Being a coffee bar where you can also buy beans and cookies, rather than just a place for a single cup of coffee, feels like part of what makes Mini Male distinct.

Mini Male also sells prepaid gift vouchers in ₩30,000 and ₩50,000. You can put them toward coffee, dessert, beans, drip bags, or gift sets, so they'd make a nice coffee gift for a coworker or friend.

How the Helsinki Latte, Levain cookie and baton financier taste

What I ordered was the Helsinki Latte, house-made Levain cookie, and batonnet financier. I got the matcha latte flacher to go.

Since I'd come to Mini Male, I had to try the Helsinki Latte. Compared to a regular latte, it has a smoother, richer milk presence while still carrying the nutty depth of the espresso. It's not overly sweet, just gently so, and smooth — easy to drink without feeling heavy. I got why it's the shop's signature.

Then the house-made New York cookie I'd personally been looking forward to — the Original Levain. Cut the big cookie in half and the outside is baked crisp while the inside is thick and dense.

Dark chocolate and nutty walnuts go in, so with one bite you get the rich chocolate flavor together with the walnuts' nuttiness. If you prefer thick, dense Levain cookies over thin crisp ones, this will be right up your alley.

I also picked a house-made batonnet financier, longer in shape than a typical financier. The elongated look already sets it apart visually from a regular financier, and it was a nice baked treat to pair with coffee.

A Helsinki Latte with a cookie or a financier on the side makes for a solid, simple dessert-time combo.

The matcha latte Flacher, saved for the next day

I also packed a matcha latte flacher to take home. Unlike the drinks you have on-site, the bottle format makes it easy to carry — good if you're with someone who doesn't drink coffee, or if you want to bring a drink home or to the office.

I drank it at home the next day, and the matcha's slight bitterness blended with the smooth milk into something rich and clean — enjoyable even at home.

Is Mini Male worth a visit near Gyodae Station?

Mini Male Roastery & Coffee Bar Seocho Gyodae Branch is a small café, but it's fully stocked — a unique space done in silver and clear materials, in-house roasted coffee, bakery items, and house-made New York cookies. If it's your first visit, the signature Helsinki Latte is worth trying at least once. If you go in the evening like I did, keep in mind the bakery case may be picked over, so go a bit earlier if you want to see the full range of desserts.
