Suseong Lake Daegu restaurant for curry and clam pasta: Rama & Bavana
In short
Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch is an Indian and Western restaurant in Suseong, Daegu, directly across from Suseong Lake. We visited with a child for chicken curry, plain naan, shrimp bacon fried rice, and Oriental pasta, with lovely lake views and a warm atmosphere. Verdict: a great pick for a special meal after a Suseong Lake walk.

This is a top-tier Indian and Western restaurant in Daegu's Suseong-gu that does curry exceptionally well. Right in front of Suseong Lake, it has such a beautiful view through the windows, while its distinctive, exotic dishes make a special day feel even more special. It is simply an excellent restaurant for dates and gatherings.

The view and parking right by Suseong Lake

This is already a well-known Suseong Lake favorite. With the lake right out front, the view from the windows is wonderful. The scenery is pretty in the daytime, but the softly lit, sparkling night view is wonderfully atmospheric too. Having visited myself, I cannot think of a better spot for a couples' date.

It is a busy area in Daegu, but there is a fully equipped parking lot behind the building, which is convenient. The space was also quite large, with room for plenty of cars.
A warm, wood-toned interior

Like the original Rama & Bavana location, the wood-toned interior gives off a warm feeling. The colors work beautifully for a place serving Indian food, curry, and Western dishes.

Even though it was late, Rama & Bavana was packed with guests. I come here fairly often, and it is one of the most atmospheric places I have been to. Couples on dates, families dining out, and group gatherings all visit, which shows that it is a restaurant people of every age and taste can enjoy.
What we ordered, from curry to pasta

We ordered chicken curry for ₩12,000, plain naan for ₩4,000, shrimp bacon fried rice for ₩10,000, and Oriental pasta for ₩16,000. We tried a good mix of Indian and Western dishes.
French fries we received with our child

For the review event, we could choose between French fries and a salad. Since I was visiting with a child, I chose the fries. Freshly fried and piping hot—what more is there to say? They were seriously delicious.

Oriental pasta generously filled with Manila clams
This is a broth pasta with plenty of Manila clams and a deep, savory flavor. A small amount of Cheongyang chili pepper adds gentle heat and makes the flavor even deeper.

The plump clam meat was pleasantly chewy too. The noodles were cooked just right. I even dipped my naan into the broth.

Shrimp bacon fried rice that was great with a child
It also has pineapple, giving it a bright, fresh flavor reminiscent of Hawaiian pizza. We ordered it because we were visiting with a child; it was mild and not spicy, just right for a child to eat. I would recommend it to anyone visiting with little ones.
It is full of plump shrimp and bacon. Adults could mix it right into the spicy curry too, right?

My favorite: spicy chicken curry
Chicken curry is my favorite menu item at Rama & Bavana. No other place can match the curry here. Carefully simmered, it has a deep savory richness.

The chicken curry is spicy, and that heat goes so well with the chicken breast in the curry. Dip naan in it and it is absolute heaven! Freshly baked in the tandoor, the naan is chewy and nutty, pairing beautifully with the curry. The portion is quite generous too, so it makes for a satisfying meal.
A special meal after a Suseong Lake walk
Cool, crisp autumn weather is arriving in the mornings and evenings. With the weather so nice, many people will come to walk around Suseong Lake, and I would recommend this place for days when you want something exotic and a little special. Its lovely atmosphere makes it a great fit for wedding-invitation gatherings and dates. This was Rama & Bavana, a Suseong Lake favorite for fragrant curry, Western dishes, and Indian food.
