The weather's been getting cooler, so I started craving hot broth. So off I went on a weekend morning to a seolleongtang (ox bone soup) spot!! It's Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch, a Jakdong, Bucheon favorite.

Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch is a seolleongtang restaurant located near Kkachiul Station in Bucheon.

Hanchon has its own private parking lot, so you can visit without worrying about parking. There's a wide private lot on the 1st floor and along the side of the building, and you can just drive out after your meal without any separate check-out. The spots are super spacious, so even beginner drivers can park easily!!

There was a rabbit next to the parking lot. So tiny and cute. Looks like it's still a baby rabbit. There are even carrots out front so you can try feeding it!!

On the way up to the 1st floor there's even an arcade machine, so there's plenty to do. Maybe that's why so many people were visiting with their kids.

Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station menu and prices

The most important part, the menu!! Seolleongtang is only ₩11,000. These days a single serving of seolleongtang can run ₩15,000, so this place is great value. There's a rice-on-the-side option you can choose.

Besides seolleongtang, there are various other menu items like ttukbaegi bulgogi (hot pot bulgogi), galbitang (short rib soup), and nurungji baeksuk (scorched rice chicken soup). I tried the ttukbul before and it had lots of meat and was delicious. Interestingly, there's also a separate kids' seolleongtang. I don't have any kids (haha), so I unfortunately didn't get to order it, but looking at the tables with kids, people ordered the kids' menu a lot. It's nice that they have a menu even little ones can eat comfortably, haha.

For side dishes there's kimchi pancake, tteokgalbi (short rib patties), and mandu (dumplings), plus cooked dishes like bulgogi jeongol (bulgogi hot pot), gopchang jeongol (intestine hot pot), and assorted boiled meat platters, which would also make good drinking food.

How does the seolleongtang with rice on the side taste, and the kimchi?

The heart of seolleongtang is the kimchi. You know the equation: good kimchi = good seolleongtang. And sure enough, the kimchi was so good, especially the mu kimchi (radish kimchi), which was wonderfully crunchy.

The seolleongtang I ordered came out quickly! You can choose the rice-on-the-side option, but scallions come mixed in by default. You can't request options separately when ordering, so if you don't like scallions I'd recommend asking them to leave it out beforehand.

The thin noodles were also super generous!! It seems like everything at Hanchon Seolleongtang, this Bucheon favorite, comes in big portions overall. The noodles and meat in the seolleongtang were both plentiful. The broth itself was rich and delicious, definitely a place that deserves to be called a seolleongtang favorite.

Ordering the mandu too made for a hearty spread, right? But I cleaned every last bit, hehe. A lot of places known for seolleongtang have a strong meaty smell, but Hanchon has absolutely none. Even people sensitive to that can eat comfortably here.

I hesitated over the dumplings since it's only 3 pieces, but they're not small dumplings — they're king-sized ones about the size of a baby's hand. Why wouldn't you order these?? You absolutely have to try them. Even the soy sauce for the dumplings was amazing, I swear.

Salt is at the self-serve bar, not on the table

Interestingly, Hanchon has pepper instead of salt on the table. The seolleongtang is already seasoned! I wanted mine a bit saltier so I asked for salt, and they told me it's at the self-serve bar. When I went, there was even rice at the self-serve bar, believe it or not. It's kept very clean, and you can freely use the rice, scallions, salt, and small plates there.

Does Hanchon Seolleongtang do takeout and delivery?

And here's a nice perk!! Every menu item is available for takeout. Even single servings can be packed to go, so you can order comfortably for takeout. It also looks like they're on Baemin and Coupang Eats. Around lunchtime there seemed to be a lot of delivery orders coming in too.
