To get to Hidongi Chicken Seokgwan Branch, you first need to head inside Dolgoji Market in Seokgwan-dong.

The market street runs neatly straight through, so I could browse the market as I walked.

Hidongi Chicken Seokgwan Branch was near the far end of Dolgoji Market. It is about a nine-minute walk from Exit 6 of Dolgoji Station.

Hidongi Chicken specializes in takeout and delivery, so there was no separate place to sit and eat—just a cooking area and an ordering counter.

They do not pre-fry the chicken; they fry it as soon as you order, so it is super fresh and wonderfully crisp! Bone-in chicken takes 15 minutes and boneless chicken takes 10–15 minutes, which was just enough time to browse Dolgoji Market.

By the way, customers picking up in person could also try a prize-draw event, haha. So good.

Menu and pickup discounts

Here is the Hidongi Chicken Seokgwan Branch menu. There were way more chicken flavors than I expected, including crispy, seasoned, garlic soy sauce, cheese, and chili mayo. Prices started at ₩18,000, and even the most expensive option was only ₩21,000!

And if you pick it up, you get ₩3,000 off one chicken or ₩7,000 off two. The value is honestly crazy. I ordered the crispy chicken: its regular price was ₩18,000, but with the in-person pickup discount, it was ₩15,000!

When I opened the bag and took everything out, the basic set included chicken, sauce, and chicken radish pickles.

The sauce was tucked into the chicken box, which had been tied with a rubber band—such an old-school fried-chicken vibe, haha. It somehow felt really homey.

When I pulled out what was tucked in there, I found salt, mustard, and a wet wipe.

The big chicken-box reveal!! The portion was so generous and looked so crunchy that I could hardly believe it was ₩15,000! 🥹

First, I went for the tender drumstick. This gloriously crunchy-looking piece is driving me crazy...

I tried the coating first, and maybe because it had been fried to order, it was so crispy while the inside was completely moist and tender ㅠㅠ Can you feel how juicy it is just from the photo?! 🥹

I also had some tangy, crunchy chicken radish pickles to freshen my palate, haha.

Wondering whether a piece other than the drumstick would still be tender, I picked up the next piece.

I peeled back the skin—can you see it?! How soft and moist the meat fibers are inside? I ate the skin by itself first, and it was unbelievably crispy and delicious!!

Even the breast meat tasted like proper chicken!! Unlike the softer meat, it had a chicken-tender kind of texture. Dipped in the mustard that came with it, it was insanely good 🥹

I kept eating diligently after that, but since I was eating alone, there was more than I expected and I left quite a bit, haha. The value at ₩15,000 is truly wild 🥹

Final thoughts

I already love crispy chicken from small franchise shops, and Hidongi Chicken in Seokgwan-dong was totally that kind of chicken place! I loved that they fried it right after I ordered, so even when I got home, the chicken was crisp outside and juicy inside.

And the best part is definitely the price!!!! It is affordable to begin with, but the pickup discount is huge, making it an absolute value champion 🥹 I ordered the crispy chicken, and it was ₩15,000—cheaper than sushi!! I was so happy with both the flavor and price that I plan to visit Hidongi Chicken again next time I stop by Dolgoji Market!
