Daegu shabu-shabu with two broths: Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch
In short
Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant on Gonghang-ro in Buk-gu, Daegu. I chose bonito-flake and hot-pot broths, then paired meat and vegetables with Vietnamese spring rolls and self-bar sides. The spacious dining room, parking, and varied self-bar made it a good option for family meals or group gatherings.

I often go out for shabu-shabu, and at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch (샤브20 대구복현점), I was pleased not only with the broths but also with the self-bar selection. I cooked meat and vegetables in two broths, then added Vietnamese spring rolls and side dishes.

Where is it, and are parking and family meals convenient?
The address is 79 Gonghang-ro, 1F, Buk-gu, Daegu. It is near Daegu Airport, and I thought it could be a convenient place to stop for a meal before or after shopping at Isiapolis. The original post lists daily hours from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, along with Naver reservations, group dining, and high chairs.

There were parking spaces both in front of and behind the restaurant, making it convenient to visit by car. The spacious restaurant was listed as accommodating up to 190 people, and I saw many families and group diners there.

What are the course time limits and broth choices?
The lunch course was listed with an 80-minute time limit, while the dinner course had 100 minutes. The original price listing read lunch 22.9, dinner 26.9, preschool children 5.0, and elementary-school children 13.9. As no currency unit was specified, I have kept the original notation.
I had to choose two broths. The regular options were bonito-flake, soy, and spicy broths, while the special options were sukiyaki and hot pot. The listing noted a ₩1,000 per-person surcharge for special broths.
What ingredients and sauces are at the self-bar?
The vegetables were neatly prepared and felt fresh. There were vegetables for Vietnamese spring rolls, noodles, bunmoja (wide glass noodles), ingredients for juk (rice porridge), and fruit, so I could pick up a range of items to enjoy with the shabu-shabu.

Posted sauce recipes made it easy to choose combinations. I especially liked having sesame sauce and chili sauce together.

How were the side dishes and drinks?
Soft drinks and draft beer were free during my visit. There was also a varied selection of side dishes, and I was pleased with the dishes I tried. The dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken) stood out in particular.

There were soup, fried rice, muk muchim (seasoned acorn-jelly salad), salad, takoyaki, tteokbokki, rice cakes, pasta, soba, and ice cream. Between the meat, vegetables, sauces, and side dishes, I ended up going back to the self-bar two or three times.

How did I eat the bonito-flake and hot-pot broths?
I chose the bonito-flake and hot-pot broths. Both tasted light and clean to me, and my stomach felt comfortable after the meal.

I wrapped ingredients cooked in the bonito-flake broth in Vietnamese spring rolls, while I dipped ingredients from the hot-pot broth into sauce separately. I was pleased with the meat, and enjoyed alternating between the two ways of eating.

I finished with takoyaki, rice cakes, and vanilla ice cream. The takoyaki was especially good. The spacious dining room, parking, and variety of dishes to accompany the shabu-shabu were reasons I would think of it for a family meal.
