Romesco roasted vegetables at Extra Mile, a Gwangalli pizza restaurant
In short
Extra Mile is a pizza and pasta restaurant on Suyeongno 554beon-gil in Suyeong-gu, Busan, near Gwangalli Beach. The writer came with a child and ordered the Classic Combo (pizza + pasta) for 42,000 won, adding Romesco & Roasted Vegetables for 12,000 won, which brought a half-and-half potato and birria pizza plus ragu pasta. The slow-fermented house dough was good, but the pick of the day at Extra Mile was the romesco with roasted vegetables.

So today, bright and early after walking our dog in Songjeong, we headed over to Extra Mile for pizza... (oh, just a heads up, they don't allow dogs here.) It was so good last time that this was my second visit.

If you're looking for a good pizza place in Gwangalli to visit with a kid, Extra Mile was a spot that had it all covered — taste, atmosphere, and a comfortable meal.

The pizza made with their own house-fermented dough left a strong impression, so let me walk you through our visit with our kid.
Where Extra Mile is in Gwangalli, and its opening hours
Extra Mile is located at 11 Suyeongno554beongil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, 1st floor, and it's open every day from 11:00 to 21:00. When eating out with a kid, the menu matters, but so does whether the place is clean and comfortable to sit in.

This time, we went to Extra Mile, a well-known pizza restaurant in Gwangalli. 📍 11 Suyeongno554beongil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea, 1st floor ⏰ Every day 11:00–21:00
The 42,000 won Classic Combo, plus a roasted vegetable add-on
That day we tried a variety of dishes with Extra Mile's Classic Combo (pizza + pasta) at ₩42,000, plus an add-on of Romesco & Roasted Vegetables.

We ordered the pizza as a potato and birria half-and-half, which was great because we could try two flavors at once.

Extra Mile uses premium Italian flour and a biga pre-fermentation method, fermenting the dough in-house. Thanks to the long, slow low-temperature fermentation, you could really taste the dough in the pizza.

Crispy on the outside and chewy inside, it was a pizza where you end up enjoying the crust just as much as the toppings.
Half-and-half pizza: potato and birria

First, the potato pizza had crispy fries on top that added a fun crunch. Truffle oil gave it a subtle richness, and the scattered chives cut through what could've been a heavy, greasy taste.

Toppings aside, I felt like the pizza itself tasted great mainly because of the dough.

The birria pizza had a bit of a different style — basically a delicious taco sitting on top of the pizza. The taco pieces were broken up, making it easy to eat in one bite, and the cilantro added a fragrant, unique touch that worked really well.
Ragu pasta at Extra Mile

Extra Mile's ragu pasta stood out even in the noodles themselves. The noodles were chewy with a great texture, and they held onto the ragu sauce well, so eating the noodles and sauce together was delicious.

Reggiano cheese added extra richness, and personally I thought it tasted even better with a little Tabasco sauce added.
Pick of the day: Romesco & Roasted Vegetables, 12,000 won
Actually, there was one menu item that stuck with me the most that day.

It was the Romesco & Roasted Vegetables at ₩12,000! The pizza and pasta were great, but the real winner of the day was this dish.

It comes out with a variety of fried vegetables — carrot, sweet pumpkin, zucchini, eggplant, and more — savory on the outside and clean-tasting on the inside, so I kept reaching for more. Paired with the romesco sauce, the vegetables' flavor became even richer. It was a great side between the pizza and pasta, and a good order whenever you want to add one vegetable dish to the table.

Why Extra Mile works for lunch with a child
Most of all, at Extra Mile, our kid could draw while waiting for the food, so there was never a moment of boredom.

The restaurant itself was fairly clean and tidy, and even the restroom was well-kept, which made it a comfortable spot for a family meal.

The staff were also kind, which made the whole meal a pleasant experience.

If you're looking for a place to eat pizza with a kid in Gwangalli, I think it's worth stopping by Extra Mile, where you can enjoy chewy house-fermented pizza dough, pasta, and roasted vegetables all in one visit.
