Gijang outlet restaurant date meal with pastry soup: Bueokgan

A stop at Bueokgan at Gijang's Shinsegae Outlet

Over the weekend, my husband and I went shopping at Gijang's Shinsegae Outlet~~ haha. It had been a while since we wandered around an outlet together, looking at this and that and doing some shopping!! And when you're shopping on the weekend, you can't skip delicious food, right?! Haha. The place we went for a meal that day was Bueokgan Restaurant!!

Since it's inside the outlet, you might think it would feel like a food court, but it doesn't at all—it is a restaurant set up like its own standalone shop within the outlet, haha. So rather than just popping in for food while shopping, it felt like having a proper meal at a restaurant with a nice atmosphere~~!! The space was clean and warm too, which I really liked, haha.

Three dishes we shared

As my husband and I sat together talking about our shopping and eating tasty food, it somehow felt like a little date too~~ haha. It was such a perfect atmosphere for a weekend outlet date meal!! We ordered three things: vongole pasta, pepperoni pizza, and pastry soup!! Since it was just the two of us, I thought that would be plenty~ but when the food came out, there was more than I expected?! I actually loved that!!

Everything tasted good and the portions were generous too, so the two of us could eat until we were full, haha.

Vongole pasta loaded with clams

First, the vongole pasta!! I love vongole pasta, so I was looking forward to it, and it was so delicious with lots of clams~~

The noodles were seasoned just right, and the savory flavor from the clams made it the kind of dish you keep eating, haha. I liked that it was neither aggressively salty nor greasy, and it paired perfectly with the pizza too!!

The pastry soup I remembered most

And the dish I remembered most from that day was the pastry soup!! It was sweet pumpkin soup topped with pastry, and it looked so delicious from the start, haha.

I gently cracked the pastry and ate it with the sweet pumpkin soup inside~~ The soft, sweet pumpkin soup with the crisp pastry had such a lovely texture, and the flavors went together so well!! The pumpkin soup itself was smooth and delicious, but having it with the pastry on top made it feel like something a little special?! Haha. I especially loved this one~~ I think I'd order it again next time too, haha.

Pepperoni pizza that paired well with cheese

And then the pepperoni pizza 🍕 This was a dish both my husband and I said was delicious, haha. It had plenty of pepperoni, so it was nicely savory, and of course it was delicious with the cheese~~

When we ate it warm, the cheese got wonderfully stretchy, haha. I think anyone who likes pizza would enjoy it easily!!

We ordered three dishes, and the portions were quite generous, so the two of us were really full!! When you eat while shopping, flavor matters, but it has to be filling so you can keep walking around enthusiastically, right? Haha. We ate well, filled up properly, and headed back out to shop, haha.

A relaxed meal along your shopping route

Overall, I was quite satisfied because the food was delicious, the portions were good, and I liked the atmosphere too~~ Above all, it was convenient to get to while shopping because it is inside the outlet, and I loved being able to have a relaxed meal in a standalone restaurant atmosphere rather than a food court!! My husband and I shopped, ate delicious food, and had an especially full day out on our weekend outlet date~~ haha.

If you're planning to visit Gijang's Shinsegae Outlet, I think it would be nice to stop by Bueokgan Restaurant for a delicious meal while shopping!! I also recommend the vongole pasta + pepperoni pizza + pastry soup combination we had~~ haha. Next time, I'd like to try some other dishes too!! If my husband and I go to the outlet again on a weekend… I have a feeling we'll probably go back to Bueokgan too, haha haha.
