Rainy weekend Yangsan brunch café: egg in hell at Famous Venny

Famous Venny Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is an Australian-style brunch café inside Oslo Park in Mulgeum-eup, Yangsan, Gyeongnam, brewing its coffee with Australian Dukes beans. On a rainy weekend morning, the writer and her husband ordered a long black, a flat white, egg in hell, French toast and a yogurt bowl at Famous Venny, and the egg in hell was so good they scraped up every last bit of sauce. With a spacious room, a clean self-service water corner and easy parking in the Oslo Park shopping complex lot, Famous Venny is a brunch café worth coming back to.

Sinineurin Dakbal is a good Seomyeon pick for chicken feet and soju on a day you crave something spicy.

Bitnaneun Lash Wax Skin (빛나는속눈썹왁싱피부) is an all-in-one beauty shop for eyebrow tattoos, lashes, waxing and skin care on the 4th floor of a building on Nakdongnam-ro in Hadan-dong, Saha-gu, Busan. Her verdict: the first eyebrow tattoo didn't hurt, and she loved how soft and natural her new brows look.

Monkfish lunch in Suyeong, Busan: suyuk & warm japchae at Hanbada

Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch is a monkfish restaurant on the 2nd floor of a clinic building near Paldo Market in Suyeong, Busan. A couple who love braised and steamed monkfish ordered monkfish suyuk (steamed sliced monkfish) for 2 at lunch; warm japchae (glass noodles) and other side dishes, grilled fish and monkfish soup came first, followed by the suyuk in a cypress steamer. Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch serves enough to fill you up before the main dish arrives, and the japchae and grilled fish alone make it worth a return visit.
