Busan milmyeon restaurant, first bibim of summer: Seomyeon Milmyeon
In short
Seomyeon Milmyeon is a milmyeon (Busan cold wheat noodle) restaurant in the EOS Plaza building near the Seomyeon Station bus stop in Busanjin, Busan. On the way home from a morning training session, the writer arrived before the lunch wait and ordered bibim milmyeon (spicy mixed wheat noodles) and mandu (dumplings), enjoying the mild broth, the unusually good sauce and the chewy dumplings together. Seomyeon Milmyeon's bibim milmyeon was a satisfying first milmyeon of the year that chased away the midsummer heat.

Seomyeon Milmyeon opening hours and parking
Seomyeon Milmyeon (서면밀면) is open every day, 10:30–21:30. For parking, just use the EOS parking lot inside the building!
It's properly steamy midsummer weather! Busan makes me think of the sea, and summer makes me think of milmyeon. After a busy morning of training, I was about to head home, but I really wanted the bibim milmyeon at the milmyeon place near the Seomyeon Station bus stop, so I went in! I got in before the lunch-hour wait started and could eat right away.

Where is Seomyeon Milmyeon near Seomyeon Station?
Seomyeon Milmyeon is a well-known Busan milmyeon restaurant right across from the site of the old NC Department Store, where a residential-commercial complex is now going up. It's in the EOS Plaza building, so parking is covered too. (Only 30 minutes, though!)

Ordering at Seomyeon Milmyeon is by kiosk
Inside Seomyeon Milmyeon there's a kiosk machine! You order at the kiosk before sitting down, and then the staff show you to a seat.

There were quite a few more tables than I expected, and the staff were really friendly, so it was a very pleasant way to walk in.

There's even a guide on how to enjoy milmyeon! I followed everything except number 3, haha. I cut my noodles with scissors 🤣

How does the broth taste at Seomyeon Milmyeon?
The broth at Seomyeon Milmyeon is the signature one, served right after you order, and it's well seasoned but mild. Some milmyeon places taste way too much of MSG, but this broth was one I wanted to keep sipping.
They say the broth is made with beef bones simmered for a full 72 hours, and they serve a generous amount with each bowl of milmyeon!

Tangy pickled radish came out too, along with yellow pickled radish (danmuji) to go with the mandu.

Bibim milmyeon at Seomyeon Milmyeon: my first milmyeon of the summer
The bibim milmyeon is made the moment you order, so it can take a while, but they say they do their best to get it out as fast as possible for waiting customers 👍 And out came a bibim milmyeon with toppings that looked delicious ^^
They also say the meat in the topping is torn by hand, piece by piece, so a lot of care goes into one bowl! This is my first bibim milmyeon of the summer. Welcome back, milmyeon!!

The look of it is crazy good 😍 Doesn't it look delicious? They say the ingredients are carefully picked fresh from Bujeon Market right next door and cooked in-house, which makes me trust it even more ^^
I was so hungry that I mixed it right away! The sauce is no ordinary sauce... One bite of the bibim milmyeon and the heat outside completely vanished! It was exactly the bibim milmyeon I'd been craving.
Seomyeon Milmyeon mandu: wrapped with the bibim milmyeon
The mandu at Seomyeon Milmyeon have a chewy wrapper and a packed filling, so they go well with bibim milmyeon. Meanwhile the chewy mandu that bibim milmyeon can't do without came out too ^^

A chewy wrapper and a full filling: exactly the kind of mandu I was looking for to go with bibim milmyeon.

I put one mandu on the well-mixed bibim milmyeon and wrapped them up together, and it's a dreamy combination! The mandu itself is chewy and well filled, and eaten with the bibim milmyeon it goes perfectly with the sauce ^^

TV appearances and the celebrity autograph wall
The walls of Seomyeon Milmyeon are full of TV appearance records and celebrity autographs. Halfway through eating I looked at the wall and realized the restaurant has been on TV quite a few times! One wall is also covered in celebrity autographs, which confirms it's a proper Busan milmyeon spot ^^

Today's weather was exhausting, but since my first milmyeon of the summer was the bibim milmyeon at Seomyeon Milmyeon, I ate really well and finished the meal very satisfied.

If you're looking for a cool milmyeon place near Seomyeon Station, how about Seomyeon Milmyeon, with friendly staff and a parking lot too?
