Asan brunch café with mild tomato pasta kids can eat: When You Bite

I went to When You Bite, a spot in Asan that nails both the brunch café vibe and the food itself :)

With the weather cooling down lately, I was in the mood for a change of pace, so my friend and I went looking for a good brunch café in Asan and landed on When You Bite.

It's such a hot spot on Instagram that I went in with high expectations, but the vibe was even better than I'd imagined and the food was delicious too — I had a really satisfying time 😉

Outside there's green artificial turf laid down, so it felt a little like stepping into an outdoor garden, and the floor-to-ceiling windows gave it such an open, airy feel hahaha

Out front there are these cute outdoor tables too. On a breezy day, having brunch or coffee out here would feel amazing. 😊 I can't wait for fall 💚 it's getting cooler these days and I love it

When You Bite hours, getting there from Tangjeong Station, and parking

When You Bite is open from 9:30am to 7pm. Last order is at 6pm, so make sure to check the time before you go!! Also closed every Monday and Tuesday, so keep that in mind

It seems like a great spot for a relaxed visit on weekends or weekday daytimes. We went around 11am for a late breakfast/brunch :)

It's near Handeulmulbit City by Tangjeong Station, so it's really easy to reach by public transit too. There isn't a big dedicated parking lot, but you can park comfortably in the alleys around the store or a nearby empty lot, so driving there wasn't a hassle at all.

Inside When You Bite: white arches and green plants

The moment I stepped inside, the pretty interior caught my eye :) Beyond a white arched structure, lush green plants filled the space, making it feel like a little garden in the middle of the city.💚🩵

The interior was so pretty that I thought, if you're looking for a good-vibe brunch café in Asan, this is the one. The tables were also spaced generously, so it was comfortable to eat here too!

One wall was lined with wine bottles. It had that casual wine bar feel — brunch during the day, a light glass of wine in the evening — which would make a great date spot too. (Though of course it closes at 7pm 🤣ㅋㅋ)

Baby chairs and a diaper-changing table: is When You Bite good with kids?

One thing that really showed the owner's thoughtfulness was this baby chair. It's clearly set up so families out for a weekend meal can eat comfortably without worrying about their kids.

I was even a little surprised to see a diaper-changing table prepared for young babies ㄷㄷㄷㄷ With more and more no-kids-zones these days, a place that thoughtfully welcomes kids like this is always so welcome ㅜㅜㅋㅋㅋ A diaper table at a restaurant..

And they even had kids' own tableware ready

Toward the back of the store there's a space set up like an actual garden, which was fun to look around. Just looking at all the green leaves felt healing.

There's also a classic rocking chair there, perfect for a great photo spot. If you love Instagram-worthy shots, don't miss this spot ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The display fridge was packed with various imported sodas, beers, and natural wines. Even the drinks weren't ordinary — the packaging was so pretty it was fun just to browse ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

When You Bite menu and prices

After looking around the place, we sat down and checked the menu first. The menu had actual photos of the food, which made choosing so much easier hehe

From burrata cheese salad to egg Benedict and sandwiches, there were plenty of great brunch options, plus more filling meal options like gnocchi, lasagna, pasta, and steak!

Prices for pasta ran roughly from the high ₩10,000s to the low ₩20,000s, which felt quite reasonable given the atmosphere. We decided to order egg Benedict and two kinds of pasta~!!

The caramel sundae ice cream from the receipt review event

While waiting for our order, I noticed a Naver receipt review event running on the table? Post two photos with the designated hashtag and you get a caramel sundae ice cream free — of course we jumped right on it 😏

The caramel ice cream we actually got after the meal! Straight into my daughter's mouth, yum...

How do the tomato pasta, egg Benedict and jambon cream pasta taste?

While we were chatting away, our whole order suddenly filled up the table ㅎㅎㅎ Isn't the presentation just gorgeous....?

The photos came out so colorful and pretty! To cut to the chase — the food was excellent both in looks and taste, and I instantly understood why everyone raves nonstop about this being one of the best brunch cafés in Asan.

The tomato pasta was the first thing I reached for, and the deep, savory flavor of the tomato really came through — the kind of taste you never get tired of. 😊😊 Piling the sauce onto the nutty rye bread that came with it made it filling too.

The noodles were cooked just right so the texture was great, and the tomato spaghetti came loaded with chicken, so it was filling after eating!! It wasn't spicy at all, so my daughter ate this one really well 👍👍

The egg Benedict combo was so good too. The combination of cream and jambon ham was absolutely delicious in every bite! I genuinely scraped up every last bit of the sauce with this one.

And the jambon cream pasta~ Thick, rich cream sauce topped generously with salty jambon ham — the balance of saltiness worked so well together ㅋㅋㅋㅋ The cream sauce wasn't greasy at all, it was light, and the jambon ham was really the star of this dish~~

Every single dish was delicious and the atmosphere was great too — When You Bite, a great brunch café in Asan. The owner and staff were both friendly and kid-friendly, so it left a strong impression on me 😚
