Korean BBQ half-pig, four cuts grilled at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk, Asan

In short

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Asan Baebang branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Baebang-eup, Asan, serving an aged half-pig with four different cuts grilled at one table. The set includes samgyeopsal (pork belly), mokssal (pork neck), hangjeongsal (pork jowl) and gabrisal (skirt meat), finished with self-fried rice. It's a solid pick for family gatherings or group get-togethers where everyone can grill and share.

Table spread of meat at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Asan Baebang branch

Today I want to introduce a Baebang meat restaurant that's really high quality and great for group visits — a Korean BBQ spot in Baebang that's become one of my go-to recommendations~~

Table set before ordering the aged half-pig set

What comes with the aged half-pig set?

You really have to try different parts of the pig to get the full experience, right? Haha. This time I ordered the aged half-pig set, which comes with samgyeopsal (pork belly), mokssal (pork neck), hangjeongsal (pork jowl), and gabrisal (skirt meat) all at once — such a welcome menu for anyone who loves meat.

Raw aged half-pig meat arranged by cut

When you only eat one cut, you can start to get a little tired of it halfway through, but with the aged half-pig set, each cut has a different flavor and texture, so it was fun picking and choosing what to eat next.

Table piled high with meat

The table was piled high with meat — just looking at it made me hungry! We got straight into grilling it all on the pan.

Samgyeopsal grilling on the pan

Grilling the samgyeopsal

The first thing that comes to mind is always samgyeopsal, right? Grilled until golden brown, you could really taste the savory juices and chewy texture.

Crispy on the outside and moist inside, it was the kind of flavor that makes you crave rice right away. Samgyeopsal really is hard to mess up, lol.

Doenjang jjigae served with side dishes

Doenjang jjigae and side dishes

Eating it together with the side dishes makes the meal even more satisfying! Hahat, the doenjang jjigae was delicious and the side dishes were great too — I was so happy^^

Mokssal grilling on the pan

Mokssal (pork neck)

Next up, mokssal! It's leaner than samgyeopsal but lets you really taste the meat itself, which is why I personally like it.

Perfectly cooked, moist mokssal

Instead of grilling it too hard, cooking it just enough to keep it moist gave it a good texture and clean flavor — I kept reaching for more. Alternating between samgyeopsal and mokssal meant we never got tired of it and kept enjoying every bite.

Grilled pork wrapped in lettuce

Wrapped in lettuce, it was really delicious, and my husband was so absorbed in eating meat, hahat.

Meat really does taste best with someone you love. The fattiness of the samgyeopsal and the tenderness of the mokssal together felt like a little feast!

Golden-grilled hangjeongsal and gabrisal

Hangjeongsal and gabrisal

And of course, the hangjeongsal (pork jowl) and gabrisal (skirt meat) I was looking forward to couldn't be skipped either. Hangjeongsal has that distinctive chewy, springy texture that's so appealing — one bite and you want another.

Especially when grilled to a nice golden brown, the savory flavor really comes alive — it was exactly my type~~

Grilled meat eaten with shredded green onion

It's even better eaten with the shredded green onion! Haha.

Self-fried rice cooking on the grill

Finishing with self-fried rice

After finishing the meat, fried rice is optional but essential~ Honestly, it's the kind of dish you'd regret skipping! Since it's self-fried, frying it up yourself sizzling on the pan makes it taste even better.

Fried rice, of course — the best! What I also liked was that, true to its name Hanmaeum Jeongyuk (한마음정육식당, meaning "one heart" butcher restaurant), you could grill the meat yourself and enjoy a relaxed meal.

A generous spread of meat with various cuts

Whenever I go out for meat, I usually pick one menu and then agonize over whether to order more — but with the aged half-pig set, the variety of cuts is built in from the start, so it was easy to enjoy a generous, full meal.

What's the vibe like for family gatherings and group visits?

The restaurant had a warm, welcoming atmosphere that let guests relax and enjoy their meal. It felt like a good place to visit with family, and just as good for gathering with friends to grill meat and chat.

Table seating suited for family groups

Especially for families dining out with kids, you want a place where everyone can spend time comfortably while eating — and this felt like somewhere family groups could visit without any worries.

Table at the end of a meal of grilled meat

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Asan Baebang branch felt less like a place to simply eat meat and more like a place to grill delicious meat together, naturally chat, and spend a good time. Sitting around the grill with good people, listening to the meat sizzle away, gives you that real sense of having gone out for a meal.
