The weather's been so nice lately that I went to Asan and stopped by When You Bite — and after visiting, what I felt was that this isn't just a pretty café, it's an Asan restaurant that's genuinely serious about food.

The T-bone steak and signature BBQ pork ribs are especially famous, so if you love meat dishes, you absolutely have to go. The ribs here were honestly the best I've had in Korea — I was genuinely surprised.

Looking at the menu at When You Bite, you can feel the care put into the food — some dishes even use house-made low-sodium jambon ham, giving it a different feel from a typical brunch café.

There's also a park right in front that's great for walking, so it's perfect for a stroll after eating!! I'd recommend booking ahead if you want the T-bone steak!

Pasta and peaché: the dishes that came out first

First up: shrimp basil pesto pasta, 100-hour jambon cream pasta, and peaché!

If you're a basil lover, order this without a doubt. The shrimp basil pesto pasta had plump shrimp that paired well with the basil aroma, and the pesto was rich and deep.

The peaché had a clean yet savory tomato-based broth, which made it great to alternate with the other dishes — perfect for cutting through the richness right when you needed it!

And another one I was looking forward to: the 100-hour jambon cream pasta. I was curious because they said it uses house-made low-sodium jambon ham, and the creamy sauce paired well with the ham's salty flavor. The jambon itself has such depth of flavor that it felt different from an ordinary cream pasta! Ordering several dishes at once to share meant each one had its own distinct charm, which I loved.

What I was most looking forward to was, of course, When You Bite's signature BBQ pork ribs. I quite like ribs and have tried them at many places, but the ones I had that day really stuck with me. Honestly, I'd say they were the best ribs I've ever had in Korea!

The meat was cooked so tenderly that it fell right off the bone, and the BBQ sauce was rich without being overly sharp, so I kept reaching for more.
