Siheung eel buffet with 650g takeout on the Oido drive: Songnim Bok

It had been a while since I visited Oido with my family. While looking up where to eat on the way, I found an all-you-can-eat eel place right along the route. Time for a little stamina boost, right!? So we decided to stop by — Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel Siheung Baegot Direct Branch.

Where is Songnim Bok Jangeo in Baegot, and how is the parking?

Here it is. It's about 13 minutes from Oido. There are lots of officetels and apartments nearby so the roads are well paved, and you can just park in the building's lot — very convenient.

How much is the eel buffet? 32,900 won for adults, 14,000 won for kids

It's on the 1st floor of the NCT building, facing the one-way street. The parking lot is also on the one-way street side, so you'll spot the restaurant as you drive in. The buffet itself is ₩29,900, but there's a ₩3,000 table setting fee on top. Kids are exempt from that fee — good to know 😚 So it works out to ₩32,900 for adults and ₩14,000 for children (elementary school age). You get 2 hours of dining and 2 hours of parking 👍 Places with good parking are always a win. So convenient 😁

Inside Songnim Bok Jangeo: seating and the late weekday lunch mood

Here's what the inside looks like. The place isn't huge, but the seating is neatly arranged. Lots of tables for 8, so it looks great for group gatherings too. We arrived for a late weekday lunch and there was no one around, so we could relax and enjoy it. Eat now, Oido later 😆

What's on the self-serve bar: eel, pork belly and duck neck meat

If the side dishes run low, you can grab more yourself over here — just help yourself to refills.

At the side dish refill station, pork belly, duck neck and even eel are set out too, so you just grab whatever whenever you want. Really nice 👍

How does the eel taste with eel sauce, white kimchi and ginger?

Nom nom nom, sizzle sizzle — nicely cooked, right?

So glossy 😍 First dip it in the eel sauce and take a bite! Ooh — the eel is so plump and juicy. Great chew, just the right amount of oil, melts in your mouth. Eel, you really are something… 🫰

Pairing it with white kimchi (dongchimi-style radish kimchi) and ginger too. This combo never disappoints, right?

Now, wrapping the duck neck and pork belly in perilla leaves like this, or just dipping them in ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste). The duck neck has a nice, slightly chewy texture. The pork belly has no funky smell and is nice and thick — delicious. So good—! Glad we came as a family. Feeling great.

The pork belly and duck neck were both delicious, but since we love eel, we ended up just eating eel over and over. Hahaha — so good 😆 A proper stamina recharge after a long while. Eel really is… 🫶

Takeout at the counter: 650g of trimmed eel for 35,000 won

While paying, I noticed they also sell eel to take home? 1kg of eel, trimmed down to 650g, sold for ₩35,000. Good option if you want to pack some up and eat at home. But since I need to eat more than that, I think the all-you-can-eat option in the restaurant suits me better 🤣 (this glutton-of-an-aunt, lol)

It had been so long since our last eel time, and it was wonderful. The owner was kind too, so the whole family left in a great mood. Now that we've eaten, off to Oido we go. The plan is to walk around, stop by a café, then head home. A great start to a successful family outing. If you're ever in Siheung looking for an all-you-can-eat eel place, this one is worth a visit.
