Even in this hot, humid weather, my husband works hard for the family every day, so I felt like he needed a good nutritious meal. While searching for a good eel spot in Baegot, I found this place! I went to Songnim Bok Jangeo Baegot, where you can enjoy domestic Japanese freshwater eel all-you-can-eat in Siheung Baegot for just ₩29,900 ✨

Eel is a precious food. Please take only as much as you can eat. There's an environmental fee for leftovers. "Leftover food cannot be packed to go."

They set out pickled onions, green onion kimchi, ginger, aged kimchi, pickled perilla leaves, eel, pork belly, and chicken neck as the basic table setting, and after that you can freely grab whatever you need from the self-serve bar. Since we visited on a weekday evening, the place was bustling with customers of all ages — this Baegot eel spot has group seating too, so it's great for company dinners as well as visits with friends, couples, or family!
What is on the self-serve bar, and how fresh is the eel?

Don't think low prices mean low quality — no way! You could tell at a glance the eel was fresh; they source it fresh every morning from the direct wholesale market and prep it themselves. At ₩29,900, you get unlimited grilled eel plus pork belly and chicken neck, so even people who aren't big eel fans can be satisfied.

The side dishes were all clean and tasty too — great with the eel, but they also went really well with the meats 👍
How to grill the eel properly at the table
📌 How to grill eel deliciously
- Grill the eel with the skin side facing down.
- Once well cooked on both sides, trim off the spine, side fins, and head fin.
- Cut into bite-sized pieces, stand them up, and grill the cut surface until golden brown for the best flavor.

Following the restaurant's tips, I grilled skin-side down until golden, trimmed the skin-side fin (optional), cut into bite-sized pieces, and browned the cut surfaces too — eel ready to eat!

Look at that thick, plump eel — total chuberp (chubby + tteukbap) vibes 🤤

The eel alone is nutty and clean-tasting, and it's just as good wrapped in lettuce or with pickled perilla leaves — the side dishes pair so well there's never a dull bite.
My husband, tired from a hard day at work, had a shot of soju, and I toasted with a cider 💦
How were the pork belly and chicken neck meat?
Since eel is the main event, I didn't expect much from the meat, but the pork belly and chicken neck looked so good — first surprise! And they tasted as good as at a proper meat restaurant — second surprise! Both my husband and I were wide-eyed haha

Our 5-year-old son really loves eel, so we brought him along — he was inhaling eel at first, then tried the pork belly and declared it delicious too, so he ended up eating eel and pork belly at the same time lol

Eel, then pork belly, then chicken neck — with all-you-can-eat refills, you can eat until you're stuffed without a second thought, so big eaters don't have to worry about the food cost.

The kind owner chatted sweetly with our son and even gave him a snack gift, which made him so happy haha 🥹🩵
Finishing the meal with bibim makguksu (spicy buckwheat noodles)

Songnim Bok Jangeo also has great side menu options like eel soup, yukgaejang, buckwheat noodles, and ramyeon! We ordered bibim makguksu (spicy buckwheat noodles) to finish, wrapping up the leftover meat with it — absolutely delicious ✨ If you're looking for a good eel restaurant in Siheung Baegot, I recommend Songnim Bok Jangeo, where you can enjoy domestic freshwater eel, pork belly, and chicken neck all-you-can-eat for ₩29,900 :)
