Yongsan ramen restaurant with baby high chairs: Menya Seoul

In short

Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch is a ramen restaurant in Yongsan, Seoul, specializing in dongpo pork and chashu ramen. We visited with our baby for mild-broth dongpo pork jambon ramen and whole-pork-belly mazesoba, and the wide aisles and plentiful high chairs made it easy. Verdict: a comfortable, tasty choice for dining with a baby.

I went to Yongsan I'Park Mall with my baby and husband. When you head out with a baby born in 2025, the biggest question is always where to eat, right? haha. “Will they have a baby high chair?” “What if the seating is too cramped?” Those worries come before the food itself. Then, around dinner time, I suddenly got such a craving for ramen, so we headed to Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch. I'd heard it was well known for dongpo pork and chashu ramen, so I was curious too. To give you the conclusion first: it was much more comfortable with a baby than I expected, and the food was better than expected too!

A restaurant setup that was easy to visit with a baby

Menya Seoul is in the food court area on the seventh floor of I'Park Mall. It is near the central escalator, so it caught my eye right away while walking around the restaurant floor.

At first, I was a little taken aback. The seats right beside the restaurant were single-person counter seats. I was like, “You expect us to sit here with a baby...?” haha. But there were shared table seats right next to them, so we ate there comfortably.

There were also plenty of baby high chairs. It wasn't a case of barely having one or two; there were enough that we did not need to feel self-conscious. It may sound like nothing, but anyone who has gone out with a baby knows exactly what I mean, haha. The food court layout also made it easy to move around with a stroller. The aisles were wide, so there was no risk of bumping into neighboring tables.

Ordering was easy too, because the menu had numbers. You can simply say, “Set number 5, please,” so even while holding the baby and pulling out my wallet one-handed, I could finish ordering quickly. Not having to say the long menu names was quietly so convenient, haha.

What we ordered and how the set works

Menya Seoul has a mix-and-match menu.

  • Choose your broth: mild / spicy / mala
  • Choose your topping: dongpo pork / jambon ham, and more
  • Choose an à la carte dish or a set: the set includes 1 of 3 sides and 1 of 5 drinks
  • Three sides: crispy gyoza · karaage · sweet soy sauce chicken rice bowl
  • Five drinks: cola · zero cola · cider · Pororo drink · sparkling water

This is what we ordered. The mild-broth Dongpo Pork Jambon Ramen Set, with ramen, crispy gyoza, and a drink, was ₩17,900, while the Whole Pork Belly Mazesoba was ₩11,900 à la carte. ※ These prices were current at the time of my visit, so please use them only as a reference! Since we had the baby with us, we absolutely chose the non-spicy option—the mild broth. They also have spicy and mala broths, but if you are planning to share the broth with a baby, I really recommend the mild one.

Ramen and mazesoba after ordering

Our food came out in under 10 minutes after we ordered. That speed is so important when you have a baby with you, right? haha. Thankfully, the food arrived before the baby's energy started to dip while we were waiting.

How was the whole pork belly mazesoba?

Whole Pork Belly Mazesoba

Mazesoba topped with whole pork belly

Mazesoba is a brothless mixed noodle dish. Pop the egg yolk, mix it all together with the sauce and noodles, and that's it!

The sauce here is seriously the key. It has a slight tang, but it is clean rather than greasy, so I kept reaching for more. Topped with katsuobushi (bonito flakes), it has a wonderful salty, savory depth. The noodles are much thicker than the ramen noodles. They are firm and substantial, with a really satisfying chew and great fullness. A whole strip of pork belly sits on top. It felt like it had been boiled, then lightly grilled on the outside; it was tender and juicy, with absolutely no off smell.

Dongpo Pork Jambon Ramen (Mild Broth)

I started with a spoonful of broth. I worried that “mild broth” might mean bland, you know? Not at all. It had the real flavor of a rich, deeply simmered stock, yet it was neither spicy nor harsh, making it perfect to share with a baby.

Rich broth and ramen noodles

The noodles were springy and stayed pleasantly chewy without going soft, right through to the end.

Tender dongpo pork topping

As the restaurant's signature suggests, the dongpo pork was incredibly tender. It had such a melt-away texture that it almost fell apart when lifted with chopsticks. Even the fatty parts were not greasy, and they were well seasoned, so they were just right with the broth.

Thick jambon topping on ramen

The jambon ham comes as one thick slice, but it is wonderfully soft, never tough. It is not overly salty either, and wrapping it around the noodles is seriously delicious. The dongpo pork is rich and savory, while the jambon is lighter and cleaner, so having both in one bowl meant I never got tired of it.

Can you see that rich broth?

Crispy gyoza set side

The crispy gyoza we chose as our set side

We chose gyoza as the set side! Honestly, I did not expect much from a side dish, but this was the real surprise. The outside was fried crisp, and the juices burst out as soon as I took a bite. It comes already drizzled with soy sauce, so there is no need to ask for any separately. Alternating it with spoonfuls of ramen broth was such an amazing combination.

If you are debating the set, go for the gyoza and you will be set 👍 Once the baby is a little older, I am planning to try the spicy broth too! If you visit at this stage, I think the basic-broth ramen plus mazesoba combination is the safest and most suitable choice.

Things to know before you visit

  • I'Park Mall parking is available, with parking support
  • Baby high chairs are plentifully available
  • Strollers can enter through the wide aisles
  • Hours: daily 11:00–21:00 / last order 20:50

⭐ Three-line verdict 👍 The tender dongpo pork and light jambon combination is the best 👍 Order ramen plus mazesoba and you will not get tired of either 👍 For the set side, gyoza is an absolute must!

Next time, I plan to try the spicy broth with a karaage set.
