In short
TPM hbc is a pizza restaurant in Yongsan, Seoul, serving seasonal pizzas and beer midway up Haebangchon’s hill. I tried the seasonal fig and prosciutto pizza with draft beer, handmade hot sauce, and gat kimchi pickles. Verdict: a lovely sunset spot for a date or blind date over pizza and beer.

Today I visited TPM hbc (더피제리아마켓 해방촌), a great pizza-and-beer spot in Haebangchon~! It is one of my personal favorites because it serves elevated pizzas that feel like something you’d get at a fine-dining restaurant, rather than ordinary pizza!! The interior is also so pretty—absolutely perfect for a blind date or a date!!

I highly recommend it as a place to hang out over pizza and beer. TPM hbc is located about halfway up the hill in Haebangchon.

Where is TPM hbc?
It’s in this residential building!! Another restaurant occupies the first floor, and TPM hbc is half a flight up the stairs.

You can spot those round lights from outside, and they are such a pretty, atmospheric touch. There is also a small outdoor terrace seating area, just so you know.

A lovely interior for a sunset date
The interior at TPM hbc was so pretty too. It really is the perfect place for a relaxed blind date or date in Haebangchon~!

If you sit at the orange sofa table by the middle window, it looks like it could fit a larger group too!!

How to order and the drink requirement
You can order from the menu by QR code! TPM hbc also sells a variety of natural wines, and I heard the wine list is updated regularly. The pizzas change with the seasons as well.

One drink per person is required here! They have not only beer, but wine, non-alcoholic beer, and cola too, so you can choose whatever suits your taste.

I chose the seasonal fig and prosciutto pizza!! I love figs so much that I was curious to see how they would work them into a pizza.

More than anything, the atmosphere was so beautiful around sunset that I just kept taking photos. Hahaha.

Draft beer and handmade accompaniments
First, the draft beer we ordered arrived! This place is seriously great for draft beer~! The foam was so even and delicious, making it perfect for an easy drink.

As it got a little darker, they lit these little candles on the table.

Around the time the pizza came out, they brought hot sauce and gat kimchi pickles. Interestingly, there were both red and green hot sauces, and they said both were handmade!! They said the green one was made with Cheongyang chili peppers.

These gat kimchi pickles had a bit of the feel of yeolmu kimchi (young-radish kimchi)?! But I could also catch a slight aroma of sesame oil, which was interesting. And it went so well with the pizza. Hahaha.

How was the fig and prosciutto pizza?
Here comes the fig and prosciutto pizza~! The pizza is not huge. Haha.

But it is just the right size to eat while having beer.

The seasonal fig and prosciutto pizza is topped with figs, prosciutto, and walnuts.

The figs added a gentle sweetness, which paired so well with the salty prosciutto and cheese, while the walnuts added a nutty crunch. I really enjoyed it.

The crust was very thin and crisp, while the outer edge was chewy—a seriously delicious combination!! It also kind of felt like eating a wholesome fig sandwich rather than pizza. Hahaha.

Drizzling on the handmade hot sauce midway through cut the sweetness a little and made it even tastier! Personally, I preferred the red hot sauce to the green one, haha. And with that draft beer! Such a great pairing. Haha, pizza and beer over chicken and beer, always!
