Jjukkumi menu board at Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi

With jjukkumi as the centerpiece, there were plenty of menu options to choose from based on taste, and we went with the Yajju jjukkumi-samgyeopsal plus added pork shoulder and udon noodles haha🐙 🌶️ Chewy, spicy jjukkumi — you can pick spice levels 1 through 4, and we went with 1.5 😙😖😄💚

Yajju jjukkumi-samgyeopsal❣️🎵

Yajju jjukkumi-samgyeopsal plate topped with bean sprouts

The jjukkumi we ordered finally arrived, and the portion was more generous than expected — satisfying from the very start!!! Loaded with bean sprouts too haha.

Generous portion of plump jjukkumi in the samgyeopsal set

There was plenty of octopus, enough for two people to enjoy a hearty meal without feeling short-changed, and the octopus was chewy and plump — combined with the spicy sauce, it was such a satisfying flavor haha.

Spicy jjukkumi stir-fried with added udon noodles

Definitely add the udon noodles

We also added udon noodles and stir-fried them together — the spicy sauce soaked right into the noodles and it was so good………🫰🏻💕🖤😍 It has a different charm from eating just the octopus, so I'd definitely recommend trying the udon add-on!!!

Sauce-soaked udon noodles and jjukkumi

The chewy octopus paired perfectly with the sweet-spicy sauce, waking up your appetite — spicy but you keep going back for more haha. The sauce wasn't just heat, it had real savory depth, so my chopsticks kept reaching for it.

Wrapping jjukkumi in perilla leaf and seaweed

Perilla leaf, seaweed, octopus, then flying fish roe and mayonnaise on top — waaang~! I left full and satisfied after a properly good meal 🤍

Steamed egg and finishing fried rice

We also added steamed egg since it seemed like it would pair well with the spicy octopus, and finished with fried rice. Eating the soft, moist steamed egg between bites mellowed out the spiciness nicely — a great combination.

Finishing fried rice stir-fried with leftover jjukkumi

And of course, we ended with fried rice — stir-fried together with the leftover octopus haha.

Maybe because it was spicy octopus eaten after work, but it felt like it washed away a whole day's worth of stress 🤭 Even though it was our first visit, the friendly service made the meal even more enjoyable. Great food plus kind service added up to high satisfaction overall.

Worth going back for a late-night meal?
