The Marine City Chinese restaurant our kids beg to revisit

When eating out with kids, I feel like you naturally end up going back to the places the kids say 'let's come here again!' rather than the ones the parents want. For our family, Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is exactly that kind of place in Marine City.

Our kids especially love the tangsuyuk here, so this isn't a one-time visit spot — we've already been back many times. Every time we go the food is delicious, and on top of that there's an ocean view over Marine City while you eat, so we often come here for family dinners.

This time too, on a weekday evening, we found ourselves craving good Chinese food and headed over. This round we mixed things up a bit from our usual order — trying gochu jajangmyeon for the first time, along with the kids' favorite black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk and poached-egg jajangmyeon. Here's how it went.

You can get 90 minutes of free parking at the Adeliece commercial building lot, so make sure to bring your parking ticket and get it stamped.

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is located on the 2nd floor of the Adeliece commercial building, above Suybeon Choego Pork Gukbap, so it's not hard to find. Thanks to its clean exterior, it's good for family dinners as well as meetups or appointments. Most importantly, for a place we end up visiting repeatedly with kids, things like accessibility and parking matter as much as the food — and in that respect too, it's an easy-to-reach Marine City restaurant.

Window seat ocean views and the evening atmosphere

Walking in, the first thing that catches your eye is the Marine City ocean view. Being able to look out at the sea while eating is one of the charms of Bueokgan Chinese. It's a different vibe from a typical Chinese restaurant where you just eat and leave, so even a family dinner feels a bit more special. Especially once the sun goes down and evening sets in, the scenery outside quietly sets the mood, and you find yourself glancing out the window throughout the meal — this ocean view and relaxed atmosphere is one of the reasons our family keeps coming back.

The 4-person window seats at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch are quite popular. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the view is refreshingly open, and the seats are comfortable too, so I'd recommend this spot.

Hall group seating and rooms for 4–26 people

There's also space in the hall for larger groups to sit together. It looked like a good fit not just for families but for group meals with several people. The spacing between tables and the overall atmosphere were clean and tidy, making for a comfortable meal.

There are also private rooms seating from 4 to 26 people, good for more private meals or various gatherings, events, and company dinners — so if you're thinking of a Marine City restaurant, it's worth a visit.

Window seat reservation and what we ordered that day

You can reserve either hall window seats or a private room — we booked a hall window seat in advance, so we got to eat with the ocean view. You can't request a specific seat, but it's worth booking ahead of your visit.

From Bueokgan Chinese's menu we ordered gochu jajangmyeon, a double portion of poached-egg jajangmyeon, and black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk. We usually come here for the tangsuyuk, but this time we tried gochu jajangmyeon for the first time.

They even prepared a baby dish set — such a nice touch 🎶

Cooking starts as soon as you order, and the food came out without a long wait. I also like that most dishes arrive together, timed well.

Poached-egg jajangmyeon — a mild sauce that's easy for kids

First, the poached-egg jajangmyeon: it comes topped with a soft poached egg, and there's a decent amount of pork belly too. The sauce isn't overly strong, which makes it perfect for kids. Personally, I think the noodles could be a bit softer.

Black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk — the biggest reason we keep coming back

The black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk the kids had been waiting for! This tangsuyuk is one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back to this place. The kids love it so much that as soon as it hits the table, chopsticks start flying — and sure enough, they polished it off in no time this time too. The pork loin is fried crisp yet tender, and the tangy-sweet flavor from the black vinegar makes it a hit with the kids.

One tip: if you ask, they'll bring you a separate soy sauce for dipping the tangsuyuk.

Gochu jajangmyeon, ordered for the first time — how spicy is it?

I was a little worried the gochu jajangmyeon we tried for the first time might be too spicy, but one bite changed my mind.

With the chili peppers, it's clean and not greasy, while still pairing well with the rich jajang flavor — much better than I expected. This was our first time ordering it, and I genuinely liked it. I think I'll order gochu jajangmyeon again next time we visit.

Why I recommend it as a family dinner spot

If you're looking for a good Marine City restaurant, I recommend Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch. Our family has already been here many times, and every visit the food is delicious and the kids eat well, so we always leave sat-is-fied. The tangsuyuk that the kids love is the biggest draw, and the gochu jajangmyeon we tried for the first time this visit was better than expected — I'll be thinking about it next time too.

Add in the Marine City ocean view you can enjoy while eating, and it's more than just a Chinese food outing — you get the atmosphere too.
