A spot I used to pop into on my own dime whenever I craved good coffee — this little sparrow's mill of a café always delivered with its deep specialty coffee quality and reasonable prices. I went back to Mini Male Coffee Roaster Gyodae Court Branch (미니말레 커피뢰스터 교대법원점) ✨

I already loved the place for its rock-solid coffee, but visiting again after a while, I found the dessert lineup had gotten even richer. Let me share a vivid review of enjoying the signature Helsinki Latte and chewy butter babka inside the stylish black-and-steel interior.

Where is Mini Male Gyodae Court, and is there parking?

Mini Male's black exterior in the alley near Gyodae Station

A 2-minute walk from Gyodae Station 🚇 Lines 2 and 3 both run through Gyodae Station — exit 6, walk 2 minutes into the alley, and you'll quickly spot Mini Male's modern black exterior. In a neighborhood dense with courts and government offices, accessibility is excellent.

Parking tips & transit recommended 🚶 There's no dedicated store parking, so I'd recommend coming by subway or bus rather than driving. It's so close to the station that public transit is a completely stress-free option.

Inside Mini Male: black-and-steel interior, full even on weekends

Step through the door and the clean, no-frills steel-and-black mood hits you right away 🖤 It has a calm yet urban sophistication that makes it a really pleasant space to settle in with a cup of coffee.

Since it's surrounded by offices and law firms, I expected it to be quieter on weekends, but I was surprised to find the store packed with customers who'd come specifically for the coffee! It's clearly a real, lasting hotspot loved by both locals and office workers.

The baristas were very kind and the interior was spotless. The restroom is located outside the store, but it was kept clean and well-maintained, so there was no inconvenience during my visit.

Three beans to choose from and the dessert lineup at Mini Male

When ordering an espresso drink, you can choose your beans according to taste. They roast high-quality green beans scoring above 80 on the cupping scale themselves, which explains how solid the bean lineup is.

Cookies, babka, and finiancier in the Mini Male showcase

Looking through the showcase, the dessert selection had grown beyond the handmade New York cookies — there was now the chewy babka released in May, plus finiancier newly introduced in September! I went with the signature Helsinki Latte, an Americano, and butter babka 🍽️

Helsinki Latte, 5,200 won (Balance beans)

Mini Male's Helsinki Latte is ₩5,200, and I had it with Balance beans. It's the café's standout signature menu, recreating a life-changing latte the owner encountered while traveling in Helsinki, Finland, with their own original recipe!

At about a 1.5 sweetness level, there's no artificial sweetness — just a subtle, refined sweetness. The rich, nutty milk flavor blended beautifully with the espresso from the Balance beans, which carries peach sweetness and tropical fruit acidity, for a truly fantastic balance. It went down extremely smoothly, and I was impressed from the very first sip.

Americano, 3,600 won (Dunkel beans)

Mini Male's Americano is ₩3,600. In an era of high inflation, getting to enjoy specialty coffee at a price in the low-₩3,000s is honestly touching!

I chose the Dunkel beans, and their heavy nutty richness and subtle sugarcane sweetness lingered deeply, cleansing the palate nicely after a meal. This is the best-value daily-coffee café near Gyodae Station — I'd want to drink it every day.

Butter babka, 4,500 won

Mini Male's butter babka is ₩4,500. The bread's name comes from the Slavic word "Baba," meaning grandmother — a traditional European bread. Mini Male reinterprets it for Korean tastes with plenty of brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts, creating a charming K-babka!

The outside had defined pastry-like layers while the inside was moist and chewy like brioche — the texture was really appealing to bite into. The knife they served it with was a Sabre, the icon of aesthetic cutlery! The attention to detail, down to the smallest utensil, made the whole experience feel that much more special.

On top of that, you also get 10% cashback on your purchase amount, which made me think, 'I wish they'd open a branch near my house.'

Mini Male merchandise: whole beans, bottled lattes and tumblers

While waiting for my drink, I browsed the shelves and found beans and drip bags for home cafés, cold brew and bottled lattes, plus tumblers and cups with the Mini Male aesthetic — a whole range of merchandise! The minimal design and clean packaging make them a thoughtful choice for a light thank-you gift for a coworker or a present for friends.
