Seomyeon galbitang restaurant, spicy solo bowl and iced matcha: Gang

In short

Gang Galbitang Seomyeon (강갈비탕) is a galbitang (beef short rib soup) restaurant on Saessak-ro in Seomyeon, Busan, with bar-style seating that makes eating alone easy. The blogger ordered the spicy galbitang with added jungmyeon (medium-thick wheat noodles) and extra brisket, then finished with an iced matcha, which neatly cleared the heat of the rich beef bone broth. Opening at 9:30am, Gang Galbitang Seomyeon works for both a Seomyeon breakfast and a solo lunch.

Why I picked Gang Galbitang for a solo meal in Seomyeon, Busan

Today I visited a special place where you can have a hearty, generous meal all by yourself. It's Gang Galbitang (강갈비탕), right in central Seomyeon, already famous among solo diners in Busan. The tidy, cozy atmosphere meant I never felt awkward coming alone, and I could eat in total comfort. 🍜✨

Atmosphere and seating at Gang Galbitang

The moment I walked in, the clean, modern wood interior caught my eye. On the wall hung the word "pride" along with a notice saying the soup is freshly boiled every morning and every step is done in the shop, which made me trust the food even more. Bar-style seats and tables for groups are nicely balanced, so it works for anyone looking for a Seomyeon breakfast spot or a solo lunch.

Spicy galbitang with medium noodles, extra brisket and iced matcha

Ordering is done at a kiosk, which was very convenient. My pick at this Seomyeon solo-dining spot was the spicy galbitang, with its rich, fiery broth. For a heartier bowl I added medium noodles and extra brisket, and I ordered an iced matcha to finish things off cool. 😋🔥

The spicy galbitang broth and ribs

The moment the bowl arrived, the bubbling look and spicy aroma got my appetite going. The broth, boiled by hand every morning, was deep and rich. The meat on the big ribs was so tender that it slid right off the bone, and I immediately understood why this place is called a top Seomyeon lunch spot.

How were the extra brisket and medium noodles?

The extra brisket was tender and got nuttier the more I chewed, a perfect match for the broth. The springy medium noodles soaked up the rich, spicy bone broth, and every bite made me go "wow." The spice clears your head and the broth is hearty, so this is a truly healing solo-meal spot in Seomyeon. 🌶️🥩

Self-serve bar and side dishes

Looking around while I ate, I saw the self-serve bar is kept very clean. Basic side dishes come set out at the start, and if you need more sides or water, you can help yourself at the self-serve corner, which was handy. For a quick, filling meal in a busy morning or lunch hour, it's a great Seomyeon lunch spot. 🍚👍

Finishing with iced matcha

After filling up on the hot, spicy broth, I finished with an iced matcha. The light matcha drink, bitter yet fresh and cold, wiped away the spiciness in my mouth and made a perfect dessert. A clean finish too, which made this a complete solo-meal spot in Seomyeon. 🍃🧊

What I want to try next

Next time I definitely want to try the mild, rich-broth arong-sat suyuk (boiled beef slices) or the galbi noodles. With parking support and deeply flavorful food, Gang Galbitang is one I strongly recommend if you want a proper meal in Seomyeon! 🍲✨
