Hapjeong pasta restaurant with a 250g ragu steak: Ragu Hapjeong
In short
Ragu Hapjeong is a ragu pasta and steak restaurant on the basement level of Tojeong-ro 3an-gil, near Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a Saturday evening visit, Grandma's Ragu Pasta (19,000 won), Mushroom Ragu Pasta (19,000 won) and the 250g Ragu Steak (29,000 won) were shared at one table, and the tomato ragu tasted deep and heavy while the mushroom ragu was creamy, which made comparing them fun. Ragu Hapjeong is an easy casual pick when you want rich pasta and steak in Hapjeong in one sitting.

This time I went to Ragu Hapjeong. I found it while looking for a good pasta spot in Hapjeong, and visited on a Saturday evening — ended up stuffed after two kinds of ragu pasta plus a steak.
Where is Ragu Hapjeong, and what are its hours?
Ragu Hapjeong is located at 29 Tojeong-ro 3an-gil, B1, Mapo-gu, Seoul. It's open daily 12:00–22:00, with a break time from 15:00–17:00, and last order is at 21:00.
Finding the basement entrance

The building itself had a brick exterior that gave it real atmosphere.

Apparently it first opened in Haebangchon in 2014 and has been running for 12 years now on its rich Grandma's Ragu Pasta, simmered for two days — that signature dish is even trademark-registered! As of our visit, from mid-August they were rebranding as [Richraw Pasta]. RICHRAW is the premium sauce brand this ragu team runs directly, and this Hapjeong location doubles as the sauce factory and official showroom, so it's the first place you can experience dishes built around the brand's philosophy.
Is Ragu Hapjeong a good date spot in Hapjeong?
Inside, Ragu Hapjeong is a casual Western restaurant built around steak paired with ragu pasta and salad — a solid pick for a laid-back Hapjeong date course. The lighting and table settings were calm, with a proper evening-date feel.

Good vibe, reasonable prices — I kept seeing it mentioned as a spot for blind dates in Hapjeong too.

We were shown to our seats, and the lighting and setting had exactly that calm evening-date feel.

So pretty.

The table near us actually did seem to be on a blind date.

The RR (RICHRAW) poster on the wall was worked nicely into the interior as an accent piece.

Okay, let's check the menu.
Ragu Hapjeong menu and prices

First I checked the lunch menu — since we came in the evening the lunch promotion didn't apply to us, but it was good reference: Grandma's Ragu Pasta (Bolognese Pasta) at 19,000 won and Mushroom Ragu Pasta (White Ragu Pasta) at 19,000 won.
There was also a RAGU x RICHRAW collaboration menu — teaming up with the premium sauce brand Richraw, they also sell Grandma's Ragu sauce and Mushroom Ragu sauce separately in 460g units. The Ragu Steak (250g) is 29,000 won and comes with a glass of house wine.
Here's what we ordered.
- 0. Zero Coke & Coke
- 1. Grandma's Ragu Pasta
- 2. Mushroom Ragu Pasta
- 3. Ragu Steak

It was hot out, so — Coke!

Waited around wondering which dish would come out first.

By the window, and it was pretty, so I took a photo.

Grandma's Ragu Pasta vs Mushroom Ragu Pasta
Grandma's Ragu Pasta arrived first! True to the menu's claim of an overwhelming amount of meat, the tomato ragu sauce was rich and heavy. You could feel the meat texture in every bite — a hearty, filling flavor from start to finish.

Then the Mushroom Ragu Pasta (white ragu) followed! A dense sauce blending three kinds of mushrooms with meat — creamy with a deep mushroom aroma, a completely different charm from Grandma's Ragu. Ordering both was fun for the comparison. Personally, I liked the mushroom ragu more.

How was the 250g ragu steak?
Last up: the Ragu Steak! A 250g striploin, seared with a fragrant herb salt crust, plated generously with mashed potatoes, whole grain mustard, and steak sauce. The meat was tender and juicy, and eating it alongside the pasta made for a seriously filling meal.
Tip: ask for jalapeños and they'll give you some!! Also, the pasta actually got thicker and tastier as it cooled!!

Who should eat at Ragu Hapjeong in Hapjeong?
After finishing our meal, I looked back at the window seat and the lighting matched the view outside so well it was great for photos. Both ragu pastas are on the rich side, so even people who don't love heavy food should be able to enjoy them without feeling overwhelmed, and adding the steak makes for a filling meal for two. A casual recommendation for a day in Hapjeong when you want rich pasta and steak together 🐾
