I visited a genuinely satisfying spot in hot-right-now Myeongdong where you can enjoy jokbal (pig's trotter) that's filling, hearty, and a little different from the usual. This is a real visit review after tucking into a beautifully arranged full-table spread :)

Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is at 21 Myeongdong 3-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 3am the next day. No parking and no corkage, but groups, takeout, delivery, and reservations are all fine, and there's Wi-Fi, high chairs, and separate men's/women's restrooms.

This Myeongdong Korean restaurant sits in the alley right behind the 'Apple Store' near Myeongdong Station Exit 6, so it's really easy to get to. Plus it's on the ground floor, so it's very visible from outside haha.

It's a hot, spicy kalguksu, perfect for cleansing your palate between bites of jokbal haha. Nice and spicy, really delicious :)

Wow, I've genuinely never seen jokbal served like this before!!!! It's obviously a massive, overwhelming dish, right??? All eyes were on our table the second it arrived hahaha.

It was seriously so heavy I could barely turn the plate with one hand. There were a lot of foreign visitors around us, and they all looked at it wide-eyed too haha. Even I, a Korean, was seeing this for the first time..ㅇㅅㅇ..!

Tofu kimchi, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), gimbap (seaweed rice roll), mukmuchim (seasoned acorn jelly), shrimp salad, bossam kimchi, and wrap greens — honestly you could fill up on these alone ㄷㄷ (I wanted to order a pancake too but the portions were already so huge, I'll save it for next time haha).

There's just so much to eat! Have some tofu kimchi~ some gimbap~ pile japchae on top~~ haha.

The jokbal had so much meat on it — the meat near the bone was especially amazing, so I put on plastic gloves right away and got to work deboning it. (Open the drawer next to the table and you'll find plastic gloves right beside the tissues.)

The star, the jokbal, was seriously so tender you could practically chew it with your gums, and of course there wasn't a trace of gamey smell. Wrapped up with bossam kimchi, I kept making wrap after wrap, refreshed my palate with gimbap in between, gnawed on the bones, and finished a very happy dinner ^^

Is Miss Jokbal worth it for jokbal in Myeongdong?

A review of a Myeongdong Korean restaurant. I found a genuinely hearty spot that draws lots of foreign visitors in Myeongdong! It's close to the station, and ordering jokbal or bossam gets you free kimchi kalguksu, so you can eat generously — and most importantly, the jokbal itself was tender and delicious :) If you're looking for a jokbal restaurant near Myeongdong Station, this is a local spot I'd recommend~!
