On a cool autumn evening like this, nothing beats good food and a drink somewhere wide open after work!
I finally reconnected with a high school friend, and we met halfway at Dangsan Station for a spontaneous get-together. The vibe and the food were both perfect at Cheongun Bossam, so here's my write-up.

Folding doors wide open, patio tables out front

Cheongun Bossam isn't far from Dangsan Station! The first thing that caught my eye when I arrived was the wide-open folding doors and the patio tables out front. Seeing groups of people clustered around the red tables outside, enjoying their meal, I thought, 'okay, I picked a great spot today.'

Stepping inside, it wasn't the typical worn-out bossam restaurant look at all — the interior was really modern and clean. The tables were spaced generously apart too, so we could catch up on all our unspoken chat without worrying about the people next to us. Very comfortable.
Menu and ordering — a free noodle dish with bossam

After we sat down, the menu on the wall clearly stated that ordering bossam comes with a free dongjuk kalguksu (clam noodle soup) or jaengban guksu (cold spicy noodles). Orders are placed easily via the tablet at the table. We went for the medium ohgyeop bossam and picked the jaengban mak guksu as our free dish. The screen even had a thoughtful note saying, 'we'll reheat the meat for you if it gets cold' — you could feel the owner's attention to detail.
Basic side dishes and the first round of somaek

Once we ordered, the basic side dishes were neatly set out — crunchy bean sprouts, pickled onions, salted shrimp, and ssamjang (dipping sauce), the perfect lineup to go with bossam.

Before the main dish arrived, we mixed up a round of somaek with Terra beer and Chamisul soju to celebrate reuniting! Sipping that cold first glass while looking out at the patio felt like it washed away all the fatigue.
How was the medium ohgyeop bossam?

Finally, today's star — the ohgyeop bossam — arrived looking neat and proper! Beautifully plated on a wide round dish, it made my mouth water just looking at it. See that golden ratio of lean meat to fat? This isn't regular samgyeop but 'ohgyeop,' so the skin at the edge stays deliciously chewy. The vivid red dried radish salad and the cool white kimchi made a gorgeous color pairing too.

I tried a piece plain, just dipped in ssamjang, and it melted the moment it hit my mouth while the edge stayed chewy — the texture was insane! No pork smell at all, just pure savory flavor.

Then I went all in — laid a piece of white kimchi on lettuce, piled on a thick slice of meat, dried radish, and a spicy pepper, and wrapped it all into one big bite. This is heaven! The sweet, spicy dried radish cut right through the richness of the ohgyeop bossam.
The free jaengban mak guksu, if you're torn with the clam noodles

Right as we were deep into the meat, the jaengban mak guksu we'd chosen as our free dish arrived, perfectly timed. It wasn't 'just a freebie' quality at all — it was as generous as an à la carte dish. The owner thoughtfully handed us disposable gloves so we could mix it up by hand ourselves. It was loaded with fresh lettuce, carrots, and other veggies, giving it a great crunchy texture. Wrapping the meat in the spicy-tangy, chewy noodles meant there was never a dull bite. I'd debated between this and the clam noodle soup, but I'm so glad I went with the mak guksu!

An empty plate that proves just how good it was! Time flew by as my friend and I ate and drank, catching up after so long.
Wrapping up
A clean space, a breezy patio vibe, and food that delivers on top of it all! If you're looking for a spot near Dangsan Station for an after-work gathering with friends or a feel-good date, Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch really won't disappoint.
