Hongdae bar for a second round of charcoal salt chicken: Kkoko Land
In short
Kkoko Land is an outdoor bar (yajang) in Hongdae, Mapo, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Sangsu Station. On a cool autumn night, friends stopped by Kkoko Land for round two and shared charcoal-grilled salted boneless chicken barbecue for 22,000 won and a No. 10 kettle of odeng soup for 16,000 won while baseball played on the large screen. For a laid-back second drink in open-air seats, Kkoko Land is an easy pick.

Meeting up with friends after a while, we were trying to figure out where to go for round two — you know that feeling when the weather's cool and you just want a drink in an outdoor bar (yajang) vibe, haha. So this time we headed to Hongdae and ended up at Kkoko Land. The moment we walked in, the open, breezy space had that outdoor drinking mood down perfectly, and I loved it. The weather was great too, so sitting there with a nice breeze blowing was the perfect setting for a drink!🍺
Where is Kkoko Land, and what is the outdoor bar like?

Kkoko Land is located at 18 Wausan-ro 19-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, about a 6-minute walk from Sangsu Station, and it's also easy to get to from the Hongik University side. We came here for round two, and the place felt spacious and open, so it looked like it would work fine even with a bigger group.

Watching baseball on Kkoko Land's large screen
What really caught my eye at Kkoko Land was the giant screen! You can watch a baseball game, and music videos play too, so it was great to have something to watch while drinking with friends, haha.

Compared to a bar where you just eat and leave, this kind of mood really livens things up! On a nice day, this outdoor bar atmosphere really is the best, haha. Sitting there with the autumn breeze blowing just puts you in a good mood♥
What we ordered at Kkoko Land and what it cost
- Charcoal-grilled salted boneless chicken barbecue ₩22,000
- No. 10 kettle odeng soup (fish cake soup) ₩16,000

We were craving the charcoal-grilled salted barbecue plus something warm with broth, so we ordered the No. 10 kettle odeng soup alongside it.

Charcoal-grilled salted chicken barbecue, 22,000 won
First up, the charcoal-grilled salted barbecue! It's boneless chicken thigh grilled over charcoal, so as soon as the plate arrived, a subtle smoky charcoal aroma hit us.

It's seasoned simply with salt, so it was great for enjoying the flavor of the chicken itself.

Because it's grilled over charcoal, the meat had this subtle smoky aroma that went really well with beer.

And the pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi) that came with it was such a nice touch! It was so good piled on top of the chicken~

No. 10 kettle odeng soup, 16,000 won
When you're drinking, you always end up craving something warm with broth, right? So we ordered the No. 10 kettle odeng soup! It comes served in a kettle, and it's packed with a generous amount of odeng (fish cake), so it was great for sharing. A spoonful of the hot broth followed by a bite of the grilled chicken was a solid combo. Eating this warm soup with the breeze blowing outdoors somehow made it taste even better, haha.

Free fruit punch for a Naver review
And here's a part I secretly loved, haha — if you leave a Naver review, they give you fruit punch (hwachae) as a free service, and even though it's free, the portion was massive!😂 It was loaded with fruit too, so it was perfect for cleansing the palate at the end. After the chicken and the odeng soup, finishing off with this sweet, cold punch was just right!
Who should visit Kkoko Land, and when?
Meeting friends after a while for round two, eating grilled chicken in that open outdoor bar atmosphere, and watching baseball on the giant screen — time flew by faster than expected, haha. It's especially well suited for days like these with cool weather, when you want to enjoy that outdoor drinking mood with a drink in hand.
If you're looking for a casual spot to drink with friends in Hongdae, a place to watch baseball while drinking, or a Hongdae outdoor bar for a light round two, Kkoko Land is worth a stop🍺 In autumn, you just can't resist a mood like this, haha.
