Hi, this is BA. Let me introduce Yong Hanu, a great hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant to visit in Myeongji International City whenever you're craving beef.

Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch, a hanwoo restaurant in Myeongji International City

I got to enjoy 1++ grade hanwoo at a relatively easy price,

and it wasn't just the meat — the meal menu and side dishes were satisfying too.

What comes in the Yong Hanu Myeongji set menus?

Each set at Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch is made up of 400g of hanwoo, with the included cuts varying slightly, so you can pick according to taste. There are even sets named after the shop itself — Yong Set, Han Set, Woo Set.

Yong Hanu offers a variety of set menus so you can enjoy different hanwoo cuts,

and among them are the Yong Set, Han Set, and Woo Set, named after the restaurant.

Each set includes 400g of hanwoo, with slightly different cuts so you can choose based on preference.

We ordered the Han Set.

and we added an order of striploin on top, so we could try three cuts together.

Even though it's 1++ hanwoo, the price was more reasonable than expected, which made it easy to enjoy a variety of cuts.

If you want hanwoo in Myeongji while keeping an eye on price, this is a satisfying combination.

How did the sirloin, galbisal and striploin taste different?

Adding striploin to the Han Set at Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch let us compare the tenderness of sirloin, the deep flavor of galbisal, and the clean taste of striploin all on one table. All three cuts had different characters, so it was fun eating them in turn.

The top-grade sirloin was great for its soft texture and rich juiciness blending together, with a nutty flavor spreading naturally in the mouth.

The hanwoo galbisal had a deep meaty aroma and nuttiness that came alive the more you chewed, with a satisfying texture too.

The added striploin had an appealing clean yet firm texture,

and the more we chewed, the more juiciness and clean hanwoo flavor came through, which was satisfying.

The hanwoo seaweed soup served with every meal

At Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch, seaweed soup (miyeokguk) comes as a standard side, and it's packed with meat, giving the broth a rich, deep flavor. It felt much heartier than a typical basic soup.

If you're visiting with kids, I thought even just warm rice and this seaweed soup would make an easy, satisfying meal.

With plenty of meat in it, this could be a real plus when looking for a family-friendly restaurant in Myeongji for a meal with kids.

Beef doenjang stew and gat kimchi to finish

For the meal menu, we ordered Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch's meat doenjang stew (doenjang jjigae). The flavor drawn from the meat soaked into the broth, making it rich and savory.

and it was great to pair with warm rice after eating hanwoo. There's also a seafood doenjang stew, but personally I'd recommend the meat version — it suits the mood of a hanwoo restaurant better.

Kkakdugi and gat kimchi served with rice

The kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) that came with the rice order was slightly fermented and had good umami, and the gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi) served alongside was especially memorable.

Eaten with hanwoo, it cleanly cut through the richness, and it was plenty tasty spooned over warm rice too.

Parking, location and how Yong Hanu Myeongji suits family or group dinners

Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch has parking available beside and in front of the store, which made driving there convenient, and since it's near the McDonald's DT and Burger King DT in Myeongji International City, it wasn't hard to find even on a first visit. The interior was well kept and clean overall.

It works well not just for meals with kids, but for family gatherings with parents or as a group dinner spot for hanwoo in Myeongji.

With a clean interior and a solid meal menu, it felt like an easy place for families of different age groups to visit together.

Seating suited for family gatherings and group dinners

Overall, the quality and price of the hanwoo, along with the side dishes and meal menu, made this a satisfying visit. If you're looking for beef in Myeongji or want to try 1++ hanwoo across cuts like sirloin, galbisal and striploin, Yong Hanu is worth checking out.

What I liked most about this Myeongji hanwoo visit was being able to add striploin to the Han Set to compare three different cuts, and how the whole meal felt hearty thanks to the meat-packed seaweed soup and meat doenjang stew.
