Aged kimchi bone stew, extra glass noodles: Nuri Maeul Gamjatang

In short

Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch is a 24-hour gamjatang (pork bone soup) and bone stew restaurant on the 2nd floor right in front of Exit 4 of Itaewon Station. The aged kimchi bone stew already comes with glass noodles, so paying 3,000 won extra for more wasn't worth it — dumplings would have been the smarter add-on — while the rice cakes, cabbage, and king oyster mushrooms packed into the stew made for a generous portion. Ordering the bone stew also gets you a side of gamjatang broth, so it's the better pick when you can't decide.

Order bone stew and get gamjatang broth too

Ordering bone stew gets you gamjatang broth on the side, so if you're torn between the two, I'd recommend going with the bone stew.

We added glass noodles to the aged kimchi bone stew~!

A full spread of aged kimchi bone stew with added glass noodles

Is the glass noodle add-on actually worth it?

Ah but apparently glass noodles come included by default anyway. Unless you're truly obsessed with glass noodles, you can probably skip the add-on! Since the extra costs ₩3,000, I'd recommend ordering dumplings instead.

Aged kimchi piled on top of the bone stew

Ahh~ maxing out my blood kimchi levels

She's thrilled haha

Thanks for cutting it for us

What's inside the aged kimchi bone stew

There are rice cakes in there too (a lot of them)

There's cabbage in there too

And king oyster mushrooms too!

Would I go back?

The meat just falls off the bone the moment you touch it with chopsticks~ I didn't manage to get photos, but the drink lineup was huge too, from makgeolli to zero-sugar Amber Cider.

I'd go back 10000%~! Next time I'm bringing my Japanese friend, who keeps singing about going to Itaewon whenever she visits Seoul hahaha
